The Director of Student Hospitality Excellence is an experienced strategic leader with proven management experience.
You will provide overall planning, direction, evaluation, and control to assigned operations to the student program.
The Director of Student Hospitality Excellence will provide guidance and inspiration to the entire team to achieve optimal student satisfaction and ensure a welcoming environment for all.
This role will report to the Assistant Vice Provost of Stanford Dining, Hospitality & Auxiliaries and provides operational and organizational leadership for nine dining halls and two culinary commissaries.
The Director identifies and implements process improvement solutions to enhance quality customer service, culinary excellence, positive employee and labor relations, communications to the four stakeholder audiences, financial benchmarks, and analysis.
In collaboration with R&DE and other department senior staff members, oversees development and implementation of the residential dining program key strategies and goals.
They will oversee various aspects of an award-winning student dining and culinary program, supervise a team of three direct reports, and leads a team of approximately 300 staff.
JOB PURPOSE: Provide management and coordination of administrative and operations-related functions for organization(s) or program(s) within an organization or for a service center(s) with responsibility for overall success.
Manage staff and/or managerial staff to achieve goals and objectives.

· In collaboration with the assistant vice provost and senior SDHA staff, the director oversees the strategic plans for all services offered in the student dining program to increase efficiency, effectiveness, and student/staff satisfaction; ensures successful execution of SDHA strategies.
· Direct staff and provide leadership to achieve goals and vision of the organization.
Responsible for hiring and retaining staff, career coaching, professional development and accountable for the performance of employees.
· May independently or in collaboration with human resources managers, guide supervisors in the interpretation and implementation of human resources policies, procedures, and programs.
· Creates and implements hospitality service policies, programs, and systems to support the strategic direction and financial goals of the student dining and culinary department.

Support R&DE DEIB program goals and objectives.
· Collaborates with the R&DE finance team to ensure achievement of budget targets and efficient management of resources.
Responsible for financial results.
· Partner with R&DE university human resources for all labor management activities, including training and development on labor contract management, and acts as the departmental representative for the dining hall programs.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: Education & Experience: Bachelor’s degree and eight years of relevant experience in administrative and financial management, or combination of education and relevant experience.
