POSITION SUMMARY: The Center on Democracy, Development and the Rule of Law (CDDRL) is recruiting a highly-organized administrative professional to lead two of the Center’s executive education programs – the Fisher Family Summer Fellows and the Strengthening Ukrainian Democracy and Development (SU-DD) programs.
Interested candidates must include a resume and cover letter to be considered for this position.
Reporting to the Associate Director of Operations and working in close collaboration with the Center Director and faculty associated with the programs, the CDDRL Program Coordinator will perform a variety of functions to support the center’s programs.
The successful candidate is a friendly, proactive and dependable self-starter who can adapt to different working styles and needs.
They should possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills and enjoy meeting and engaging with people from diverse backgrounds.
The ideal candidate will have an interest in global development issues, the relationship management skills to engage with people of diverse backgrounds and personalities, and the energy and vision to help develop both programs further.
Experience with development/fundraising and partnership building is also advantageous.
This role requires a high level of professionalism, productivity, accuracy, organization, multi-tasking, independence, sound judgment, and decision-making.
The program manager should also be comfortable working independently with limited supervision.
Recruiting, evaluating and selecting applicants to the Summer Fellows/SU-DD Programs.
This involves reaching out to our program alumni, trusted partners, and other networks to stimulate strong applicants.
Screening, reviewing, and conducting due diligence on applicants is one of the central functions of the role, which requires someone with the ability to evaluate and critically review applicants based on several criteria.
In collaboration with the CDDRL Faculty Director, the Program Manager will develop the program at Stanford, which includes setting the agenda, advising in the development of the curriculum, making recommendations for course improvements, supporting the fellows, overseeing the program’s interns, coordinating special events, and being the central point of contact for faculty, fellows, and other CDDRL staff helping with the program.
Ensure that the logistics for the program run smoothly, including airfare, accommodations, and ground transportation for the fellows; catering and event logistics for special dinners during the duration of the summer program; and other items as needed.
Prepare communications materials and social media content to support the program’s outreach and recruitment goals.
Manage the program’s alumni community and concurrent activities, communications and social media activity.
The program coordinator will build and deepen relationships with alumni and support special projects associated with the alumni network.
The program coordinator will also be tasked with developing a regular alumni newsletter and maintaining the network’s closed Facebook group page to foster communication and cohesion within the network.
Support stewardship and development objectives for the program.
Build and maintain partnerships with peer leadership programs and other organizations that support democratic leaders and human rights activists.
Support the program’s general administration which includes website maintenance and development; budget management; maintenance of central alumni database; and other systems and processes to support relationship management goals This position will be based on-site at the Stanford campus and may be considered for a hybrid work schedule (partially onsite and offsite), subject to operational need.
*The selected candidate should plan to work in person on campus with no interruption from early June through the end of August and must plan vacation around that time frame accordingly.
This position is fixed term for one year with the possibility of extension based on funding availability and programmatic need.

Create, maintain, modify, and/or ensure accuracy of content in various unit documents, displays, reports, brochures, social media, and/or websites.
Plan and schedule calendar(s) without prior consultation, resolve calendaring conflicts, and arrange travel in compliance with unit, university, and sponsor policies.
Create complex reports and spreadsheets which may utilize specialized software and systems.
Make recommendations based on reports.
Oversee and/or process a variety of complex financial transactions; produce, monitor, and reconcile budget statements; research, identify, and resolve discrepancies.
May assist with capital or special equipment requests and/or vendor selection.
Coordinate complex office moves.
Plan and coordinate routine remodeling and renovations.
Analyze and review material and extract pertinent information for briefing purposes.
Positions at this level also include one or more of the following duties: In conjunction with financial lead and/or principal investigator, assist with sponsored project research proposal submissions and post award administration.
Responsible for leading the administrative functions of a program or unit.
Perform human resources transactional support and/or faculty affairs support; coordinate or manage the visa process.
