Day - 08 Hour (United States of America) This is a Stanford Health Care job.
A Brief Overview Responsible for the day-to-day management of hospital and clinic -wide programs associated with Infection Prevention and Control.
Assures that Stanford Health Care is in compliance with hospital infection prevention and control-related State and Federal regulations, The Joint Commission and Stanford Health Care Infection Prevention and Control Policies and Procedures.
Locations Stanford Health Care What you will do Participates in the design and evaluation of healthcare associated infections (HAI) surveillance systems, special studies and research projects.
Plans, develops, implements and monitors appropriate facility-wide programs for the prevention of healthcare associated infections (HAIs) patients and personnel.
Analyzes and interprets data from surveillance activities and evaluates trends.
Serves as a liaison to facilitate communication among SHC departments, and other quality improvement committees, regarding infection prevention and control-related matters.
Collaborates with representatives of community health agencies and other institutions to provide coordinated services for prevention and control of infections.
Assists the administrative director in developing strategic initiatives, procedures, and processes for clinical regulatory and accreditation compliance.
Develops new policies and procedures, oversees policy and procedure revisions, management, and implementation to comply with accreditation and regulatory standards and requirements for infection prevention and control.
Mentors and acts as advisor to other members of the Quality Patient Safety & Effectiveness Department and staff and managers outside of the QPSE department with respect to infection prevention and control.
Oversees investigations, follow up activities, and action plans in response to infection control outbreaks, significant infection control events, and significant infection control adverse events and serious near misses.
Directs or leads work groups on projects as assigned.
Participates in the development and implementation of infection prevention and control activities by facilitating interdisciplinary collaboration of caregivers across the continuum of care.
In collaboration with the administrative director, participates in the development and implementation of department policies and procedures and departmental infection Prevention and control improvement initiatives.
Supervises, coaches, mentors, trains and evaluates work results of direct reports.
Develops and implements corrective action plans, and Joint Commission Evidence of Standards Compliance and associated audits.
Education Qualifications Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in Nursing, Public Health, Epidemiology, Microbiology, Clinical Laboratory Science, or closely related field.
Required Master’s degree Preferred Experience Qualifications 5 years of clinical experience, either in Infection Prevention & Control or comparable clinical leadership role.
Required Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
Ability to develop and present educational programs and/or workshops.
Ability to direct the development of programs/processes related to Infection Prevention and Control in compliance with external regulatory and accreditation standards and requirements.
Ability to foster effective working relationships and build consensus.
Ability to make effective oral presentations and prepare concise written reports to a variety of audiences.
Ability to mediate and resolve complex problems and issues.
Ability to plan, organize, prioritize, work independently and meet deadlines.
Ability to provide leadership and influence others.
Ability to supervise, coach, mentor, train, and evaluate work results.
Ability to work effectively with individuals at all levels of the organization.
Knowledge of computer systems and software used in functional area.
Knowledge of medical terminology and related levels of care and treatment.
Knowledge of principles and practices of organization, administration, fiscal and personnel management.
Knowledge of state and federal regulatory requirements related to infection prevention and control compliance.
Knowledge of data analysis and reporting practices pertaining to infection prevention and control quality improvement.
Licenses and Certifications CIC - Certified Infection Control preferred .

Base Pay Scale: Generally starting at $74.
66 - $98.
94 per hour The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, internal equity, experience, education, specialty and training.
