Therapy and outreach for youth and families who have high level behavioral health needs.
Population served represents a diverse community; and a specific focus is on providing services that meet cultural and language needs of the youth and families being served.
This clinician’s primary duties will and can include mental health assessments; providing therapy and case management; crisis management; and collaborating with outside agencies and providers.
Individual, family, and/or group therapy may be provided in a clinic and/or field setting; field setting may consist of school site, home site, or community-based organization.
Clinicians may also be asked to conduct community outreach to help reach populations that are underserved in their regional area.
Collaboration and coordination of services with other providers is an essential piece of the services provided, therefore candidate should have excellent oral and written communication skills.
The clinician may consult and collaborate with other teams in BHRS and community agencies and contract providers such as Children and Family Services, Probation, Golden Gate Regional Center (GGRC), faith-based organizations, schools, etc.
The *ideal candidate *will possess: (You can choose to use this or take it out as you wish, but in selling the position I think it is best to have the “What we Offer Section”) · Experience delivering behavioral health services to emotionally disturbed children ages 5-18; · Solid clinical treatment, assessment, diagnostic and evaluation skills working with a youth population; · Knowledge of principles, techniques and trends in counseling, psychotherapy, clinical case management, crisis management as well as evidence-based practices and trauma-informed care; · Experience working with youth with complex issues involving behavioral health and substance use; immigration statues*;* · Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including strong organizational, time management, detail and interpersonal skills; · Familiarity with issues affecting the LGBTQ community; · Proven ability to work under direct supervision; · Experience conducting individual, group and family therapy; · Solid documentation skills: progress notes, assessments, client care plans, etc.
; · Demonstrated ability working with a broad range of clients from diverse cultures and backgrounds, sensitivity to socioeconomic and psychosocial issues affecting communities of color; and an ability to provide bilingual and culturally appropriate and proficient services; and · Skill in establishing and maintaining productive working relationships with children/adolescents, their families, co-workers, other professionals, collaborative partners and the public.
*Minimum qualifications include:* *Licensure/Certification* · *Psychiatric Social Worker I:* Registration with the Board of Behavioral Sciences as an Associate Clinical Social Worker.
An individual hired in this classification must become licensed within three years from the date of employment as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker issued by the State of California.
· *Psychiatric Social Worker II:* Current California license as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker.
· *Marriage & Family Therapist I:* Registration with the Board of Behavioral Sciences as an Associate Marriage and Family Therapist.
