1969 Martin 0-18 #252523 is in Very Good-to-Excellent cosmetic condition and is in perfect playing order.
A favorite of Bob Dylan and (U2's) the Edge, this unique model features a featherweight, smaller "concert" size body making it a joy to hold and play.
Yet, while it may be small in stature, with its aged woods and original X-bracing, it is big on tone.
Furthermore, when pushed, the guitar projects a surprising amount of volume.
The Brazilian Rosewood fretboard and bridge, Spruce top, mahogany back and sides and (soft V profile) mahogany neck are all original as, it appears, are its finish and Grover tuners.
The guitar has a few little bonks characteristic with its vintage including some light finish checking.
In between the pickguard and bridge there is a hairline crack that has been glued and cleated.
On the lower side, there is some discoloration in the mahogany and a one inch split in the finish which does NOT go through the wood.
On the back of the neck there is a 3/8 inch gouge in the finish.
I've tried to reflect all of these in the attached photos.
The neck has been reset and refretted allowing for easy playing and for action at the 12th fret of a low 5/64"s, with LOTS of saddle remaining.
The nut and saddle were both replaced with carved bone and the bridge pins with ebony.
Also, the guitar is wired for (and the sale includes) a deArmond sound hole pickup.
Includes a fitted Guardian deluxe hard case, also in very good-to-excellent condition.
Hard to see how this rare but affordable, investor-grade vintage Martin will not continue appreciate in value over time.
It a joy to play and ready to be savored for the NEXT 54 years.
Come see/play/judge for yourself.
