My name is Jacob An (non-binary"they/them"), and I have been a Special Education Paraprofessional for 19 years now at Piedmont Unified School District and an Assistant Librarian for going on 4 years.
After school, I am a Math Enrichment tutor, guitar teacher, and art instructor.
In my free time, I am also an artist (abstract collage/pen/water color), a musician (mostly ukulele covers by myself but looking for an acoustic group to join soon), a mutual aid-focused volunteer, a long-distance/slow walker/hiker, aspiring sewer/clothing designer, and an avid reader.
I am looking for a private room within two walking miles of Piedmont High School, as I have not owned a car in over two decades now(!) and just LOVE not being drenched in sweat when getting to work.

I would use common spaces mostly for cooking/eating, reading, and co-watching the occasional flick or chatting with whatever souls want to share a bit of their days and dreams, but I generally spend most of my time out and about.
On weekends, given it's dry, I'm out hiking, biking, or just meditatively lounging in nature with a friend, art-piece, or book.
I'm fairly introverted, but *really* appreciative of conversations that lead to feeding and housing folx in need, or providing harm reduction services.
I am quiet, tidy, an intentional communicator, incredibly responsive, responsible and flexible.

Should you be interested (and ONLY if you were very interested), once or twice a month, I would like to host a salon, sharing circle, crafternoon, sewing circle, or acoustic musical event in our common area(s), but I do have plenty of access to public event spaces for this, so if you'd prefer to keep it closed to community events, I'd totally respect that!
Finances: I make around $35K a year, so I feel I need my room and utilities together to be under $1,200 per month, ideally around $800.
To offset this, I could charge $50-100 per hour (sliding scale) for math homework help (up through 11th grade common-core) and am happy to do other work-trade things to lessen my rent, should you have kids of your own who need the support.
I am also happy to walk dogs for the standard $25 per half-hour, to lessen my load.
Yard work and construction are also doable, though I'd need oversight to ensure I'm meeting your needs adequately! :)
