Provide strategic advice and legal counsel to select business segments related to Walmart's global patent portfolio; serve as the primary point of contact for patent and open source matters, bringing in other legal and business stakeholders as needed; manage a team of patent professionals made up of patent agents, a patent paralegal and patent counsel; develop and implement legal strategy to manage the entire patent lifecycle.
Working effectively with senior counsel and other members of the intellectual property (IP) team to manage Walmart's global patent portfolio Acting as the primary point of contact for all patent and open-source related matters.
Managing and developing strategy for the entire patent lifecycle, including identifying inventions, reviewing invention disclosures, overseeing patent preparation and prosecution, and working cross-functionally across departments on patent licensing, pre-litigation, and enforcement efforts.
Connecting with Walmart's business segments to develop an understanding of their product roadmaps, patent and open source priorities, and to ensure appropriate IP coverage of key initiatives Working with and supervising outside counsel, patent professionals, patent paralegals, and patent counsel to obtain strategic patents.
Conducting patent landscape, freedom to operate, and patentability searches.
Setting open source strategy and overseeing open source compliance.
Performing outreach and conducting patent and IP trainings for Walmart personnel.
What you'll bring: Experience working with engineers and R&D personnel.
Demonstrated ability in formulating global filing strategies.
Familiarity with intellectual property provisions in tech contracts and agreements.

The annual salary range for this position is $208,000.
00-$416,000.
