Job Description Gilead Sciences Protein Therapeutics department has an opportunity for highly motivated Associate Scientist within the Protein Science group.
In this position, the candidate will work in the team of research biologics inventory management and qualification, ensuring that logistical services to Gilead Sciences internal and external customers are provided in a timely manner.
This process will include verify/perform qualification assays for biologics, sample aliquot/labeling/check in/dispatch that are tracked through Laboratory Information Management Software (LIMS).
This process will also include continuous planning of process optimization, archival updates, and provide logistical support for worldwide shipping.
Responsibilities: Manage the biologics inventory for Protein Therapeutics department (samples include proteins, bio-conjugates, library, plasmids, etc.
) Verify or perform qualification assays in collaboration with scientists upstream of the workflow to ensure samples checked into the inventory system meet the required quality criteria Responsible for timely delivery of research samples to requesters Collaborate with Research Informatics on continuous optimization of biologics inventory informatics system Generate, review and deliver CofA to internal and external customers Provide mentorship to team members Education and Experience: A minimum education requirement of 3+ Years with MS, 5+ Years with BS with highly relevant experience.
Prior industry experience in biologics sample management team and/or protein QC is highly desired.
Required skills Strong analytical, communication, and organizational skills Highly experienced in sample inventory management software (e.
g.
, Titian Mosaic) and electronic LIMS systems (e.
g.
, Genedata Biologics) Hands-on experience in biologics sample management (aliquot, label, sample fulfillment and shipment, etc.
) and sterile laboratory techniques Working knowledge in protein qualification assay, such as concentration measurement, Endosafe, freeze thaw test, microbial contamination assay, CE-SDS Working knowledge in automation systems (e.
g.
, Biomek, BioMicroLab XL100) Nice to have skills Experience in cell bank management is highly valued The salary range for this position is: $124,015.

These considerations mean actual compensation will vary.
