Based in any US office, the Manager, Onboarding & Offboarding (“the Manager”) is responsible for managing the firm’s onboarding and offboarding processes, data collection and technology, which includes managing the online portal, permissions and ensuring that all necessary documents have been completed and uploaded.
This individual will work closely with lateral hires to help them succeed as they transition to our firm and will work closely with outgoing personnel to ensure a smooth transition.
This individual will work closely with other firm departments to provide high level service for onboarding and offboarding of lateral hires.
The Manager will oversee external recruiting portal access, address questions related to onboarding and offboarding, and ensure all necessary data is collected before the designated start or end date.
This individual will also handle post-onboarding and offboarding administration of data, including the export of relevant data and files from the portal to iManage and the deletion of data upon completion of onboarding.
The Manager will report directly to the Director of Conflicts & Information Governance and will work closely with the Firm’s Chief Legal Operations Officer, General Counsel’s Office, Professional Development, Marketing & Client Development, Knowledge Management, Communications, Recruiting, Diversity, Career and Alumni Services, Technology, Human Resources, and Office Administration.
Responsibilities include:
Serve as concierge and point of contact for candidates or leaving personnel as they go through the onboarding and offboarding processes.
Manage onboarding process from partner vote through day one to ensure a seamless onboarding experience for lateral partners.
Oversee population of candidate folders with appropriate forms for each stage of the onboarding process and ensure outstanding items from various departments are added to the portal in a timely manner.
Manage drafting and distribution of DocuSign Terms of Use and NDA for candidate and recruiter signature, creation of new partner onboarding portal for each lateral candidate, and control portal access for candidates, applicable recruiters, and internal parties.
Validate data in lateral candidate questionnaires.
Work with candidates to confirm legal and preferred name once the decision to have a candidate join the firm is finalized.
Govern client and matter on and offboarding processes in conjunction with other members of the NBI, Conflicts & Information Management team.
Govern data and file exports and archival, ensuring internal data security, governance and privacy policies are met.

Ability to effectively communicate with all levels of an organization.
Flexibility to work outside standard business hours as needed.
EXPERIENCE
Bachelor’s degree required.
Experience in a high-touch client service role; preference for someone who has worked extensively in the legal industry.
Project management background, with ability to clearly communicate status and updates, and track outstanding items.
Previous use of DocuSign, HighQ, and/or IntApp Terms highly desired.
Limited travel may be required.

Compensation & Benefits:
The annual compensation range for this position is $125-165k.
The salary offered within this range will depend upon qualifications and other operational considerations.
