The Global Head of Personal Systems Communications leads the communications team dedicated to this multi- billion dollar organization.
This role is accountable for leading integrated campaigns to build brand preference, driving audience engagement, and establishing thought leadership for the HP PS business and its global leaders.
This leader will also work with regional teams, marketing leads, and global business unit leads to elevate storytelling, supported by research and data insights, and is the primary architect of our most important PS innovation narratives.
The role requires a strong understanding of B2B and product communications, as well as executive communications and creative campaign development experience.
This role has direct exposure to and engagement with senior executives, and requires strong collaboration and strategic communications skills.
Also crucial to this role is experience in strategic positioning.
While HP’s product reputation is strong, the company is competing in a crowded space and working to maintain leadership in the category from both a product and thought leadership standpoint.
Success in this role will be helping the business develop a strong narrative to help consumer, business, gaming, and financial audiences understand why HP is uniquely positioned to win.
It will require a strong point-of-view, understanding of technology and above all else, incredible diplomacy and communication skills.
The global lead will also be responsible for coaching and developing a high-performing PS communications team, as well as managing our agency partners.
As such, excellent team building and people building skills are also required.
Experience managing remote and globally diverse teams is a plus.
This role reports to the Global Head of Product & Services Communications (PSC) and will be a thought partner to the rest of the PSC leadership team.
Cross-product collaboration is expected, and the leader will be expected to proactively work with other business units to tell stories across the entire HP portfolio.
They will be biased toward action, inspire teammates to perform at a high level, and consistently turn strategy into execution to achieve strong results.
Responsibilities Architect of communications function for PS; in partnership with PSC lead, builds a world-class function for an exciting and emerging business unit.
Drives strategic communications campaigns, thought leadership, and product/solutions launch work across the PS businesses.
Prioritizes, drives, and evaluates key strategies and programs in support of business objectives.
Set or lead communications strategies, policies, standards, and direction across the team.
Expected to contribute as a senior business leader, proactively counselling senior-level management on critical communications elements.
Contribute to the development and adoption of innovative communications principles and ideas across the team.
Building and maintaining relationships with members of the PS leadership team to inform communications strategy and content.
Overseeing executive social media strategy, with focus on leveraging platforms to drive engagement across priority audiences and topics.
Direct external agency supporting executive communications and content.
Attracts, grows, motivates, and maintains talent.
Build careers and drives personal development for direct reports.
Map a measurement framework to objectively assess communications impact.
Qualifications At least 12-15 years of communications leadership experience.
Significant product and services communications experience; experience working with technology companies is preferred.
A great writer, with experience content development, messaging and talking points.
Strong executive presence that inspires trust and confidence.
Strategic thinker with a strong grasp on global issues, current events, and business trends.
Sound judgement, with the ability to balance short- and long-term priorities in a disciplined manner.
A good understanding of the public policy landscape and implications for global companies.
Thrives in a fast-paced environment and calmly adapts to change when needed.
A strong external network that can be leveraged to support strategic objectives.
Experience effectively managing relationships with external agency partners to maximize impact.
