YOUR ROLE AT DOMPÉ Under the direction of the Director, KOL & Peer to Peer Strategy, the AD / SPM of KOL & Peer to Peer Strategy leads the execution of our commercial Key Opinion Leader strategy and engagement plans for the ophthalmology and optometry, with a focus on cornea specialists.
Dompé has a first in class treatment, OXERVATE, for neurotrophic keratitis, a rare disease impacting approximately 65,000 people in the United States.
Given the first-in-class nature and strong clinical profile of OXERVATE, it is important that the AD / SPM of KOL & Peer to Peer Strategy has the ability to develop strong relationships with thought leaders in ophthalmology and optometry, collaborate effectively with the sales, medical, and marketing teams, identify new opportunities for peer to peer education and commercial KOL partnerships with Dompe, advance their advocacy for Oxervate, and effectively communicate the impacts of NK and OXERVATE among their peers.
This role will also aid in the development of tactics aligned with strategic imperatives and cross-functional objectives, and will be responsible for working closely with our vendors to ensure quality and timely completion of deliverables or provision of services.
WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING: MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES Execute Dompé’s KOL and peer to peer engagement plan for ophthalmology and optometry, including recommendations for how to evolve our strategy and novel tactics over time to support information sharing between HCPs Collaborate with the RM, KAMs, and MSLs in their region to strengthen relationships with national & regional KOLs and identify “up & comers” Facilitate compliant collaboration and insights sharing with the sales team to support opportunities to grow our business.
Regularly meet with their target KOLs via 1:1s, congresses, virtual chats, and regional dinners – log interactions in OLMS including KOL insights gathering to inform quarterly insights meetings & future strategic planning Identify ongoing opportunities to engage KOLs with Dompe aligned to their strengths Regularly attend national and regional congresses (approximately 12+/year) to meet with KOLs, gather market insights, collaborate cross functionally to ensure seamless execution of Dompé’s overall presence at the conference, and lead commercial congress event planning with target customers Identify and train speakers for the Oxervate speakers bureau & commercial symposia Regularly attend speaker programs & symposia to observe speaker effectiveness, provide additional speaker coaching and training as needed, and ensure smooth logistical execution of our programs Support core & growth marketing with recommendations for advisory board participants, including collaboration on advisory board content where needed Establish relationships with the leadership of regional ophthalmic and optometric societies, periodically meeting with them to keep a pulse on their organization and opportunities for Dompé’s partnership Serve as a key project team member on various cross-functional projects, often with high visibility within the organization Ensure compliance with all relevant laws, regulations and policies YOU COULD BE THE PERFECT FIT IF YOU HAVE: Recent ophthalmology and optometry market experience required.
Pharmaceutical/biotech sales experience is required Demonstrated ability to drive brand growth, and establish respected relationships with physician key opinion leaders Demonstrated understanding of pharmaceutical legal and regulatory requirements and impact on KOL interactions, and development of marketing strategy and materials Success working in a cross-functional collaborative environment and presenting effectively to HCPs, sales teams, and internal stakeholders The ideal candidate will have 6 years or more of pharmaceutical (or broader healthcare) commercial experience (marketing, front line management, training, and KOL strategy experience is a plus) College degree is required, MBA or master’s level degree a plus SKILLS YOU’LL NEED FOR SUCCESS: TECHNICAL Excellent oral and written communication skills and interpersonal skills Adept at forming and maintaining a collaborative work environment in and among cross functional teams Knowledge and understanding of ophthalmology & optometry Demonstrated successful execution and pull through of marketing tactics / programs, and building respected relationships with physicians Excellent knowledge and delivery of clinical information, and demonstrated ability to engage in crucial conversations with HCPs Ability to respond appropriately to needs of key stakeholders and manage expectations Demonstrated ability to effectively manage time and set priorities in circumstances of conflicting requirement Excellent project management skills and follow through Demonstrated ability to excel in smaller fast-paced entrepreneurial organizations SKILLS YOU’LL NEED FOR SUCCESS: PERSONAL Results-oriented Self-starter who thrives in fast-paced, start-up environment Critical thinker and active listener Influential in driving outcomes and buy-in for ideas Ability to manage multiple priorities and simplify approach based on priorities Teamwork & collaboration The desire to actively solicit feedback on performance and skill development needs Appreciation for diversity of perspectives and approaches among peers LOCATION AND TRAVEL: This position is field based.
