The External Relations department of the Stanford Graduate School of Business seeks a Program Manager, Principal Gifts.
The Program Manager will provide day-to-day oversight and management for the GSB’s Principal Gifts (PG) program, which is primarily focused on securing gifts of $10M+.
The Program Manager will collect and analyze data on prospects, donors, and program operations; formulate systems and procedures for a growing PG team; and liaise with GSB Major Gifts colleagues and other stakeholders within GSB External Relations, and across the GSB and Stanford University communities.

The Program Manager will join a new and growing team within GSB External Relations, serving in a new role that will be key to the success of the GSB’s PG program and will affect all facets of the program– from the cultivation and stewardship of individual principal gifts to program strategy and operations.
Your primary responsibilities* include: Independently implement, administer and evaluate day-to-day activities of the GSB Principal Gifts program by identifying objectives and executing tasks, making recommendations that impact policies and programs, and working with the GSB Director of Principal Gifts to achieve the goals of the program, which include but are not limited to: In coordination with the GSB campaign operations and major gifts teams: Develop, revise and implement procedures for GSB Principal Gifts program operations.
Record all individual principal gift cultivation, engagement and stewardship activities, and track progress on active principal gift proposals and solicitations.
Flag and escalate potential gift and payment issues, ensure accurate donor record keeping, and drive complex administrative issues to resolution.
Ensure frequent coordination and communication with the GSB major gifts team, especially with regards to principally rated donors and prospects who are staffed by GSB senior development leadership or major gift officers.
With supervision, participate in the development of budgets and monitor and approve expenditures.
May perform limited forecasting and provide recommendations that determine the budget.
Collect and analyze data, create reports, review and summarize trends; formulate and evaluate alternative solutions and/or recommendations to achieve the goals of the program or function.
Working under consultative and/or self-initiated direction to assess and produce relevant, custom information (reports, charts, graphs.
and tables) from structured data sources, such as: Synthesizing complex data quantitatively and qualitatively into reports and executive summaries.
Tracking and preparing detailed reports on program and data analytics.
Reviewing and tracking funds, and reporting on use of gifts, as assigned.
Analyze and interpret GSB Development, External Relations, and University OOD policies.
Formulate and evaluate alternative procedural solutions and/or recommendations to achieve GSB Principal Gifts and GSB Campaign operational goals Represent GSB Principal Gifts as the key contact and subject matter expert on topics related to GSB Principal Gifts operations by: Representing the program or function to external/internal stakeholders and constituencies.
Representing and working on behalf of the team in cross-university activities, to internal and external constituencies, and via outreach activities, while building a network of relevant contacts.
Work with front-line fundraising staff, donors, volunteers, and other university staff to assist in establishing and maintaining relationships with all university constituencies.
In partnership with GSB Principal Gifts team, serve as a liaison with other schools, units, initiatives, and working groups.
To be successful in this position, you will bring: Bachelor’s degree and three years of relevant experience, or combination of education and relevant experience.

Outstanding communication skills and exceptional attention to detail and follow-through.
Demonstrated ability to be highly proactive, prioritize own work and multi-task in a dynamic and somewhat ambiguous environment.

In addition, preferred requirements include: Strong abilities in Excel/Google Sheets Experience in development/fundraising or an interest in philanthropy Experience in higher education The expected pay range for this position is $64,480 to $120,000 per year.

The pay offered to a selected candidate will be determined based on factors such as (but not limited to) the scope and responsibilities of the position, the qualifications of the selected candidate, departmental budget availability, internal equity, geographic location and external market pay for comparable jobs.
