Associate Chemist, Process Chemistry

The Company manufactures, markets and sells professional veterinary care products worldwide.
As an Associate Chemist, Process Chemistry you will be performing: hands-on synthesis of precursors and final products on a multi-kilogram scale under standard operating procedures (SOP), liquid filling/capping of the Company’s products using an automatic filling machine, assembly and packaging of product using an automatic packaging line and case packing/palletizing robots.
Tasks include: synthesis and purification of compounds, clean/maintain equipment and work area and other tasks to be assigned.
Inert atmosphere glovebox and/or Schlenk line techniques will be used to prepare, purify and manipulate products.
Filling of product will require working in a class 10,000 clean room.
Experience with industrial chemistry will be required.
Candidate must be detail oriented, ready to work in a clean environment and on a production schedule time table.
Key Responsibilities and Duties: * Schedule and carry out SOP chemical reactions on a multi-kilogram scale * Produce high quality materials that meet required Company product specifications * Determine needed supply and purify starting materials, precursors and products.
* Record production data of all results in SOP Batch Record forms * Independently plan, manage and track SOP production progress including monitoring timelines, raw materials, equipment availability and yields to ensure success on a production schedule timeline.
* Clean and maintain glassware, equipment and production areas * Package final products using automatic filling, labeling, cartoner machines and case packing/palletizing Robots * Lift, carry, and/or move production equipment and supplies * Prepare production areas for project initiation or changeover * Work under industrial safety and quality control guidelines Candidate Qualifications: · BS or MS in organic chemistry · 2+ years industrial production and scale-up experience in multi-step chemical synthesis is required.
· Candidate must have industrial organic synthesis experience in air-free manipulation and storage (i.
e.
Schlenk line and inert atmosphere glovebox).
Candidate must be independent and experienced in setting up and maintaining required laboratory equipment for daily operations.
· Previous experience in manufacturing according to SOP’s, and Batch Records is preferred.
· Excellent hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity.
· Ability to work and communicate with others in a professional and effective manner, within a team-oriented environment.
Job Type: Full-time Pay: $64,000.
