*Job Description:* General Engineering Project Manager/ General Superintendent-
General Engineering Project Manager representative is responsible for planning, organizing, managing and monitoring multi-discipline project engineering, including team members, vendors/subcontractors, trucking, controls and procurement teams to execute all stages of projects from initiation through acceptance and closeout.
Single point accountability to organize, integrate and lead project team to successfully meet the project objectives.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
Direct oversite of the project scope, cost and schedule and field support for multiple concurrent grading, paving and site utility projects.
Dispatch daily manpower/planning and scheduling tasks in coordination with each project.
Oversee and execute the job cost budget, track, and maintain proper coding of costs throughout the project duration but not limited to maintain accurate daily costs, timesheets including quantities completed.
Prepare and deliver presentations/reports that communicate project proposals, descriptions, and status updates to upper management.
Provide accurate monthly project financial reports included but not limited to budgeting, forecasting, Work offers, invoice approvals, and actuals tracking
Identify and implement Change Order Management in all stages of projects.
Obtain, submit, monitor/ track submittals, RFI’s, change orders and project closeouts.
Accountable COVID and overall project safety, identify and correct potential safety hazards to ensure the project is OSHA compliant.
REQUIRED SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Proficiency with computerized project management and reporting tools but not limited to Microsoft Office Suite, Blue Beam and able to learn and implement new technology as implemented.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to perform effectively in a fast-paced work environment with multiple priorities and deadlines.
Certificates, Licenses, Registration: valid California Driver’s License and clean driving record.
Field trips to job sites IS required, so applicant must be open to travel to Bay Area project sites.
Language Skills: must be able to read and write in English; bilingual in Spanish helpful but not required.
Mathematical Skills: basic business math and the ability to create and understand budgets; geometry, algebra, and physics necessary for calculating volume, area, and tonnage.
Must have strong problem solving, analytical skills and reading comprehension and be able to deal with both standardized and non-standard situations with many variables.
Interpersonal Skills: the ability to interface and collaborate with a wide variety of people including clients, union employees; operators, laborers, carpenters, managers, public agencies, and general contractors.
Education and Experience: undergraduate degree in construction management, landscape architecture or civil engineering and 5 or more year progressively responsible heavy civil construction management experience.
In absence of a four-year degree, the equivalent in progressively responsible heavy civil construction management experience.
