Job Description:
Construction Foreman for TEC is responsible for supervising and coordinating the activities of construction workers and subcontractors.
This role plays a pivotal part in ensuring that construction projects are completed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with design specifications, schedules, and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities:
* Team Leadership and Supervision:
* Lead and manage a team of construction workers and subcontractors.
* Assign tasks, responsibilities, and work schedules to crew members.
* Ensure that work is performed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with project plans and specifications.
* Project Planning and Coordination:
* Collaborate with project managers and engineers to understand project requirements and objectives.
* Plan and coordinate daily activities, ensuring that construction work progresses as scheduled.
* Monitor and adjust work plans as needed to meet project deadlines.
* Quality Control:
* Oversee the quality of work performed by the construction team and subcontractors.
* Conduct inspections to ensure work meets design specifications and industry standards.
* Address and rectify any issues or deviations from project requirements.
* Safety Compliance:
* Enforce strict safety protocols and regulations to maintain a safe work environment.
* Conduct safety meetings and trainings for the construction team.
* Investigate and report any accidents or safety violations, implementing corrective actions.
* Materials and Equipment Management:
* Coordinate the delivery and use of construction materials and equipment.
* Ensure proper handling and storage of materials on-site.
* Report material shortages or equipment malfunctions promptly.
* Communication:
* Maintain effective communication with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders.
* Report daily progress, challenges, and resource needs to project management.
* Facilitate communication among crew members to ensure clear instructions and expectations.
* Problem Solving:
* Identify and resolve construction-related issues and challenges.
* Collaborate with project teams to find solutions to unexpected problems.
* Make decisions that keep construction work on track and within budget.
Qualifications:
* High school diploma or equivalent; further education or certification in construction management or a related field is a plus.
* Proven experience as a construction foreman or in a similar leadership role in the construction industry.
* Strong knowledge of construction processes, techniques, and best practices.
* Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills.
* Proficiency in reading and interpreting construction blueprints and plans.
* Familiarity with construction equipment, tools, and machinery.
* Knowledge of safety regulations and the ability to enforce them effectively.
* Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
* Physical fitness and ability to work in outdoor and sometimes challenging conditions.
* Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
