*District Technology Technician*
*BASIC FUNCTION*
Installs, maintains, troubleshoots and upgrades computer hardware, software, networks, peripheral equipment and district wide software systems; assesses user needs and trains users in effective use of applications; makes recommendations regarding hardware and software acquisitions; communicates and provides user assistant to district staff and 7 school sites; serves as lead IT person in the absence of the Director of Technology and System Administrator and performs related work as required.
*ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS*
* Perform preventative maintenance on installed equipment, install add-on components, set up and configure new systems, and provide advice to end users on hardware and systems software issues.
* Assist in determining the source and nature of computer or malfunction.
Assist with adjustments, repairs, and replacement of malfunctioning equipment or software.
* Assist in maintenance and troubleshooting of communications, PA, network and wireless systems and installation of related equipment.
* Assist in service and installation of TV, projector, and other A/V equipment.
* Assist with changes to District productivity and student information systems.
* Document completed tasks and system software changes and revisions.
* Provide support of end users through email, phone, and work order system.
* Respond to work orders and requests in a timely fashion.
* Refer the most complex problems to the System Administrator and Director of Technology and/or vendors for resolution.
* Perform related duties as assigned.
*Desirable Qualifications*
* General knowledge of tools, materials, equipment and procedures used in the repair and maintenance of Windows, Mac, Chrome OS, iOS/iPadOS, and Android devices.
* General knowledge of basic principles of TCP/IP and wireless networking.
* Ability to problem solve, work independently, organize, prioritize and coordinate tasks using professional judgment, standard procedures and compliance with District policy;
* Ability to lift, unpack, move, and carry equipment with weight up to 50 lbs.

* Ability to work with a diverse set of technically competent and potentially resistant users;
* Listen, speak, read, comprehend and write/type sufficiently to successfully receive/provide information to/from staff, the public, co-workers, supervisors, etc.

* Maintain valid driver’s license, have own transportation, and willingness to travel throughout the District and to off-site locations as needed
*Experience and Education*
Any combination equivalent to:
* Cisco Certified Entry Networking Technician (CCENT)
* Comp TIA A+ Certification
* Microsoft Technology Associate (MTA)
* AA or AS degree in Technology related major
* Graduation from high school supplemented by college or vocational training
* Two years experience related to computer, network, server, and workstation support

Pay: $32.
65 - $37.
84 per hour
