The position works a 9/80 schedule with every other Friday off.
Hours are 6:30 am - 4 pm.

Essential Duties Essential and other important responsibilities and duties may include, but are not limited to, the following: Providing support and instruction to the lover-level operators and assisting the supervisor in developing and implementing training programs for the crew.
Directing and participating in the operation and routine maintenance of the water distribution system which includes the inspection and repair of: pumps, motors, control valves, chemical feed equipment, generators, compressors, solenoids, meters, controls, surge tanks and reservoirs Ensuring compliance with Federal, State and local drinking water standards including proper documentation and sampling and interpreting data from laboratory analyses and implementing process control strategies to ensure optimum performance Maintaining adequate chemical and supply inventories Serving as the Acting Supervisor in the Supervisor's absence Oversees and participates in the removal, overhaul, disassembly, repair, replacement, and installation of equipment Monitoring and adjusting of SCADA system and related components Investigating water quality complaints Serving on-call as a part of the regular team rotation and responding to emergency after hours needs Staying current on operational and technical developments in the water industry Performing other related duties as assigned Minimum Qualifications Sufficient education, training and/or experience to demonstrate possession of the following knowledge, skills, and abilities which would typically be acquired through: Four years experience in a related field with at least two of those years as a D3 Water Operator and Equivalent to a high school diploma or GED Special Requirements: Possession of a Grade D3 Water Distribution Operator Certificate issued by the State of California Possession of a valid Class C California Driver's License with the ability to obtain a hazardous materials endorsement within one year of employment Ability to work on call, weekends and holidays as assigned or required Color vision for color comparison chemical tests Ability to wear OSHA approved respiratory equipment and breathing apparatus.
Ability to pass drug test as mandated by the Department of Transportation Required to meet DHS Continuing Education requirements to maintain proper certification.
