As a Staff Cooling and Lubrication System Integration Engineer, you will be at the forefront of driving innovation and excellence in the conceptualization, design, development, prototyping, testing, and manufacturing of the next generation of groundbreaking power units.
In this position you will be responsible for the mechanical integration of the cooling and lubrications system into the overall power unit, looking for a system that delivers an optimal balance between efficiency, durability, performance and BOM cost.
Your responsibility will go from a concept starting from a napkin sketch all the way to production including, finding, and coordinating suppliers, defining test plans, defining assembly procedures for components, etc.
We are seeking a talented and creative individual who is passionate about Powertrain engineering and development.
The minimum requirements we seek: Bachelor’s Degree in mechanical Engineering or related field.
6+ years of experience designing, developing, validating and releasing electric vehicle batteries, power electronics, or power units.
6+ years of experience using 3D CAD software collaboratively (NX, CATIA, 3DX, Solid Works, etc.
) Strong understanding of GD&T and drafting practices.
Strong understanding of high-volume manufacturing processes such as plastic injection molding, casting, machining, sintering, stamping, etc.
Strong sense of ownership.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Strong first principle understanding on Hydraulics and Heat Transfer.
An eagerness to work cross-functionally in a dynamic environment where you are part of a high performing team.
A system approach to design and development with the desire and curiosity to strive for exceptional delivery execution and continuous improvement.

S.
in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
Experience with Matlab, GT-Suite or similar software Hands-on experience building and launching automotive products and prototyping powertrain systems.
Experience with Microsoft Office, Confluence, and Jira applications Strong written and verbal communication skills Experience with instrumentation and measurement of powertrain systems in a lab environment.

What you’ll be able to do: Closely collaborate with Motor team to deliver the most optimal interaction between the cooling system and the motor, deliver the right amount of cooling for any given condition while minimizing the power consumption required to deliver that oil and the potential windage effects of the oil being used to cool the motor.
Closely collaborate with Geartrain team to deliver the right amount of lubricant for any given condition.
Closely collaborate with the structure/housing team to deliver the simplest and most cost-efficient mechanical integration of the Cooling and lubrication system into the power unit.
Responsible for Windage Management.
Lead the design and development of mechanical components internal to the power unit such as Oil pumps, heat exchangers, oil tubes, oil baffles, oil distribution manifolds, oil filters, oil valves, access covers, Oil squirters, etc.
Utilize CAD software to create detailed 3D models and engineering 2D drawings following ASME Y14.
5 Contribute to design reviews, test plans, and requirements reviews to further optimize the powertrain system cross functionally.
Manage the technical side of the supply chain relationship, collaborating with external vendors to make the parts as easy to manufacture as it can be.
Develop design validation plans for the Cooling and Lubrication system.
Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation and reports related to the development work.
Contribute to the continuous improvement of design processes and methodologies to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
Collaborate closely with the Test engineers and subject matter experts to develop Test rigs and test plans to help validating the mechanical components.
