The Thermal Systems Integration Technician will support the development and testing of cabin and powertrain thermal systems for Ford’s next generation of electric vehicles.
The minimum requirements we seek:
• 2-year degree in Automotive Tech & Repair or equivalent experience
• 5+ years of experience supporting electric vehicle architecture & integration development
• Class C driver’s license or ability to attain one
• Strong background in instrumentation and data acquisition
• Experience with machining and fabrication
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills
• Experience with lab equipment installation maintenance and calibration
Preferred Requirements:
• Experience working with high voltage powertrain and thermal systems D
• Experience diagnosing and repairing HVAC components and systems
• Safe management of glycol, AC refrigerant, and oil-based liquids and gases
• Knowledge of thermal and fluid measurement sensor installation and calibration
• Experience with data acquisition systems and related sensors
• Hands-on experience prototyping and launching automotive thermal systems and products
• Can interpret and create wiring diagrams for test fixture construction
• Experience with controls methods for automotive thermal systems
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Confluence, and Jira applications
• Experience with instrumentation and measurement of thermodynamic systems in a lab environment
• Understanding of thermal system operating fundamentals and a commitment to continuous learning and improvement.
• Experience navigating geometry in 3DX/Catia V6 and interpreting 2-D engineering drawings.
What you’ll be able to do:
• Manage thermal systems integration bucks and environmental test chambers
• Modify and install custom cooling system components in collaboration with engineers
• Perform root cause analysis of component failures
• Design and construct test fixtures and assembly tools
• Assemble and troubleshoot test equipment hardware and control systems
• Integrate new parts or systems into bucks or vehicles and provide design feedback
• Maintain and repair lab equipment and tooling
• Facilitate time-critical testing for prototyping and vehicle development
