Operations Supervisor- MRF

SOUTH BAYSIDE INDUSTRIES IS CURRENTLY RECRUITING FOR A OPERATIONS SUPERVISOR FOR OUR MRF.
THIS IS NOT A REMOTE / WORK FROM HOME POSITION *POSITION TITLE: *Operations Supervisor- MRF *LOCATION: *333 Shoreway Environmental Center, San Carlos, CA *REPORTS TO: *Operations Manager *FLSA Status: *Exempt *SALARY RANGE: *$85K - $95K *POSITION SUMMARY*: Under the direction of the Operations Manager, supervises the staff of regular and contract employees in the MRF and Public Dropoff and ensures the workforce is adequately staffed and trained.
Determines workflow, staffing, and monitoring safety.
Maintains orderly and safe workspaces.
Ensures that workforce and equipment is utilized in an efficient manner and moves resources as necessary to meet production needs.
*REPRESENTATIVE RESPONSIBIITIES*: _The following responsibilities are general duties that a particular employee in this position may or may not be required to perform.
The actual duties required of this position will vary.
_ · Ensures efficient and safe operation of the MRF and Public Drop-off.
· Ensures compliance of SBI’s safety training, policies, and procedure.
· Creates work schedules that meets staffing needs.
· Ensures the cleanliness and maintenance of facility.
· Engages employees to create a safe, energetic work environment through feedback and recognition.
· Investigates and completes reports for work related injuries and/or vehicle accidents/incidents and submits paperwork in a timely manner.
· Conducts employee safety observations to ensure safety and productivity procedures are being followed.
· Enforces SBI’s safety rules and regulations; this includes disciplining employees for safety rules violations and unsafe acts.
· Ensures new employees are trained on general safety policies and proper use of assigned equipment.
* Identifies all potential rule infractions, submitting information to Operations Manager, assisting in the avoidance and correction of existing cases.
* Administers Collective Bargaining Agreements.
· Manages the inspection of inbound loads to ensure they meet the allowable percentage of contamination.
· Manages the inspection of outgoing commodities to ensure product meets customer quality requirements.
· Manages special projects and other related management duties as assigned.
*EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:* · Bachelor's degree (accredited) preferred or in lieu of degree, High School Diploma/GED (accredited).
· Required five (5) years’ experience supervising in an industrial, construction, manufacturing, recycling, or waste management environment.
· Experience and strong background working in a union environment.
· Knowledge and experience with DOT and OSHA regulations.
· Experience managing a workforce covered by a collective bargaining agreement.
· Class “A” Commercial Driver’s License required upon hire or within twelve (12) months of hire.
· Technical and professional principles, practices, laws, applications, and programs.
· People management and leadership capability.
Job Type: Full-time Pay: $85,000.
00 - $95,000.
