Responsibilities The technology that powers Mainspring’s Linear Generator is unlike any other generator technology on the market.
The Linear Generator relies on innovative electrical power and control hardware systems to achieve its best-in-class efficiency while meeting the world’s strictest emissions requirements.
These electrical hardware systems are designed by a talented team of electrical engineers that own hardware design from initial concept through test and manufacturing.
We have a highly impactful opportunity for an electrical engineer to shape the future of the Linear Generator’s electrical power hardware systems.
In this role, you will… Design the critical electrical systems that enable key functions and ever-expanding features of the Linear Generator Bring-up, validate, and qualify your electrical hardware designs Troubleshoot complex hardware issues that arise in the test lab, production floor, and fielded units Collaborate with the new product introduction (NPI) team and external suppliers to improve designs for manufacturability and testability Work on key power components such as grid-tie inverters, high voltage batteries, 3-phase transformers, DC-DC converters Partner with reliability engineers to further drive up power component reliability Become an expert on the power hardware subsystems that you own from concept to deployment Qualifications You have.

Hands-on experience designing, developing, and realizing electrical hardware with thermal and mechanical constraints Interest in learning complex design concepts while working with a high energy team A “collaborate-first” mindset and can successfully communicate across a range of disciplines and personalities An eagerness to work on a wide variety of assignments.
This position is well suited for an electrical engineering generalist with broad experience A degree in Electrical Engineering with basic fundamentals of circuit theory, power conversion, and component sizing Experience using an oscilloscope, multimeter and other instrumentation to measure electrical parameters such as voltage, current, impedance Analytical skills ranging from visualizing lab data in Excel or Python, to complex simulations in LTSpice or PSCAD The Bay Area salary for this role is $90k-$140k base + pre-IPO stock options + benefits.
This position is on-site in Menlo Park, CA.
The salary will be adjusted based on the experience of the employee.
