Job Description Department Summary To enable Guardant Health to fight cancer through engineering improvements, the Reagent Manufacturing Operations team is seeking a highly motivated Summer Intern Reagent Manufacturing Engineering Intern to assess existing automation/ manufacturing practices and recommend innovative changes to improve production capability.
Successful candidates will have an opportunity to impact Reagent Manufacturing initiatives, learn new technologies and impact patients’ lives.

About the Role: The Reagent Manufacturing Intern will be responsible to work with the production and engineering team to assess and identify opportunities for improvement in the Reagent manufacturing laboratory.
The intern will be exposed to various automation technologies and tools used to directly support manufacturing builds.
The role will be focused on performing measurement system analysis to increase productivity, cost savings and efficiency.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Perform measurement system analysis on automation equipment Develop standard labeling and a label tracking method Review manufacturing forms and streamline instructions Recommend improvements based on data driven results Present findings, write reports, and participate in technical discussions Other project deliverables as needed Qualifications Student pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Industrial, Automation Engineering or equivalent 0-3 years of experience or engineering background Critical thinking skills Basic understanding of engineering concepts Strong communication and presentation skills Quick learner Bring a can-do attitude to solve new and challenging problems in a high pace environment Preferred Qualifications: Understanding of Microsoft Excel, Minitab or equivalent data analysis tool Background in Biology or Chemistry Liquid handler automation experience is a plus Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma skills is a plus Additional Information Hybrid Work Model: At Guardant Health, we have defined days for in-person/onsite collaboration and work-from-home days for individual-focused time.

For positions based in Palo Alto, CA or Redwood City, CA, the hourly range for this full-time position is Undergraduate $29/hr.

, and Doctorate $42/hr.
The range does not include benefits and, if applicable, overtime, bonus, commission, or equity.
Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including, but not limited to, job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.

Employee may be required to lift routine office supplies and use office equipment.
Majority of the work is performed in a desk/office environment; however, there may be exposure to high noise levels, fumes, and biohazard material in the laboratory environment.
