Role Summary: The Senior Analytics Engineer, SC&L role within the Supply Chain Analytics & Data Operations team focuses on enabling Rivian to make informed and timely supply chain management decisions.
You will be responsible for extracting, transforming, and loading data and/or working with business partners to validate data from various sources in data warehouse, and producing dashboards/visualizations, reports and other formats.
Utilizing analytics engineering tools and techniques, you will work in role that requires both the business acumen and contextual understanding of a data analyst and the technical skillset of a data engineer.
While being the subject matter expert of various datasets within a supply chain domain, this is always in the context of the broader, end-to-end supply chain: sales and ops planning, supplier operations and procurement, inbound logistics, warehousing and production inventory, and outbound logistics.
This role will be responsible for creating metrics against Objectives & Key Results (OKRs) to provide executive visibility into supply chain operations, align cross-functional SC&L Teams, and support operational teams with daily execution.
The ideal candidate must be able to communicate technical concepts (data and supply chain) and build consensus among stakeholders with varying perspectives, constraints, and goals.

Responsibilities: Define requirements with stakeholders, determine critical path to deliver desired results necessary to execute business process or actionable decision utilizing data.
Analyze complex and/or ambiguous business problems and provide valuable insights through various methods: data validation, ad-hoc reports and automation, dashboards, etc.
Support manual reporting and automation of production tasks for: SAP (MRP, Inventory, BoM Analysis), TMS (materials & finished vehicles) and Internal Applications.
Automate non-value-added tasks and data collection for SC&L control tower dashboards in collaboration with IT which achieve Objectives & Key Results.
Identify and refine relevant data to produce KPIs for the Supply Chain stakeholders, with relentless focus on reliability, data accuracy and integrity of information.
Understand and enhance current processes, data pipelines and data visualizations based on user feedback.
Support and establish control processes and guidelines around ETL tasks, data maintenance and data visualization.
Facilitate and coordinate SC&L data integrity concerns and provide a regular communication link back to stakeholders.
Utilize Jira, Confluence and other collaboration tools to capture and align with stakeholders on requirements (timing, scope, etc.
) and progress and/or status.
Develop and deploy data transformations with dbtCloud through a Git-enabled CI/CD version control process.
Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Supply Chain Management and/or Computer Science Experience in following business fields within Supply Chain: Material Planning, Logistics, Production Control, Packaging, Procurement 3 to 5 years of experience in working in a high-profile analytics team and working with enterprise level data (MongoDB, Dynamo, Redshift, Databricks, or equivalent) 3+ years of experience in structuring, analyzing, and visualizing large data sets 3+ of SQL, Python, and/or R 3+ years of relevant work experience building end to end solutions to support performance measurement and process improvement in material planning, inventory, and logistics 3+ years’ Experience with Data visualization tools (Tableau, PowerBI, Python libraries) and data transformation tools (dbtCloud, Alteryx) Evidence of rapid learning of new, unfamiliar topics with humility and openness Must be willing to travel up to 20% Preferred Qualifications: Master’s Degree in Data Science and/or business Analytics 5+ years’ experience in a Business Intelligence, Data Engineering, Analytics, or other function.
Working or practical knowledge of automotive manufacturing, global supply chain and logistics for US-domestic as well as Europe & International markets Practical experience leading/managing collaborative projects with extremely complex/technical detail subject matter Experience with Automation/RPA would be beneficial, but not required Would be an asset: SAP Experience; MRP (Material Requirements Planning), inventory receipt, process of goods movements, COGI error and RCA, Inventory and Material Master.
