Job Title: Technician, Installation

Reporting to: Manager, Installation
Job Summary
The Installation Technician is responsible providing exceptional service to our customers while performing on-site diagnostic, troubleshooting, preventive and corrective maintenance on a variety of gate and door systems.
Essential Duties and Functions

Installs, configures, and troubleshoots gates and access control systems as specified for all assigned projects/work.
Inspects job site, interprets blueprints, and ensures site preparation for the work.
Welds, wires, and programs customer equipment as required by the scope of work.
Ensures device(s) operate as intended and desired by the customer.
Ensures apprentices and all on-site contractors perform work safely.
Partners with the General Contractor and other on-site contractors to flow of tasks are coordinated efficiently and to specifications.
Documents tasks completed to log against the project plan.
Manages truck inventory and equipment delivery with support team to order or purchase specialized equipment, missing parts, and other components and tools.
Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Education and Experience
Education and/or experience equivalent a High School diploma and 3 or more years working low voltage or mechanical construction.
Experience with gate operators, electronic controls, or other outdoor low-voltage electrical systems preferred.
OSHA 10-Hour Certification preferred.

Able to present information and respond to questions with peers, managers, clients, customers, and the general public on technical subjects.
Able to read and comprehend written work instructions, technical documents, blueprints, manufacturer instruction manuals and other materials in English.
Math: Able to perform simple addition, subtraction, multiplication and division using standard units of measure and weight.
Reasoning: Able to apply common sense understanding to carry out complex instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
Ability to develop logical troubleshooting techniques based on an understanding of the product performance and test requirements.
Time Management: Able to track and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment with several simultaneous projects/work orders.
Able to work with minimal supervision.
Technology: Knowledge of email, texting, and work order systems sufficient for basic communication, reporting, and notes.
Physical Requirements: Able to push/pull/lift up to 50 lbs.

Able to stand, climb, walk, kneel, and crouch frequently, as required at a variety of customer locations/work sites.
Driving: Able to operate a motor vehicle for extended periods of time and possess a clean driving record.
Work Environment
The physical environment for this position includes construction sites, warehouses, and outdoor customer locations.
Frequently required to use and promote use of personal protective equipment to prevent injury.
Travel Required
Frequent day travel to and from job sites, vendor locations, and offices.
