YOUR DAY TO DAY Support the production of klystron amplifiers (vacuum electron devices) OR Coupled Cavity Traveling Wave Tubes and other Microwave products through documenting, reviewing, and refining manufacturing processes and production design.
Assist with the development of new products and their transition to manufacturing.
Involvement in a variety of manufacturing processes including brazing, welding, rf testing, vacuum technology and provide engineering project support.
YOU WILL BE ACCOUNTABLE FOR: Assists in devising the initial concept of the assigned Microwave Tubes, associated component or system; and participates in the overall detailed product design, analysis, and testing.
Technical specialist for research & development).
Recognizes design problems and takes corrective action, identifying areas of cost reduction/yield improvement and implementing appropriate changes.
Works with manufacturing during pilot run and first product runs, to ensure an efficient transition from engineering into production.
Supports the production of existing products such as product improvement and build efficiency initiatives.
Develops and improves engineering processes and work instructions for building high quality Microwave tubes.
Performs and manages project related administrative tasks such as planning, execution, and monitoring schedules and cost control according to assigned budget.
Coordinates with other departments such as Purchasing, Production control, Marketing, Customer Service, Quality Assurance and others as needed to carry out project tasks to meet strategic departmental/ organizational goals.
YOU ARE THE RIGHT PERSON FOR THIS JOB IF YOU HAVE: (Minimum requirements): Must a be a senior student enrolled in Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in electrical engineering.
Must be a US Citizen and able to obtain/maintain a U.
S.
Department of Defense Security Clearance.
Interested in working at a manufacturing environment, with a passion for hands-on work and problem solving; and a basic understanding of engineering principles, RF/microwave concepts, vacuum science/products, materials like metals and ceramics and process engineering, manufacturing science, etc.
Able to manage programs, projects, and products independently with direct supervision.
Some relevant HP helpful.
Knowledge of HP tubes including design, analysis, testing, functionality, materials, and processes desired, or ability to learn it.
Experience with Solid modeling software (AutoCAD/Autodesk, SolidWorks, ANSYS, Maxwell).
Working knowledge of MS Office products (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
Excellent interpersonal, verbal/written communication and organizational skills.
Excellent written and verbal communication.
Ability to work on a team and be a team player.
Strong work ethics and initiative.
