*QUALIFICATIONS: *
● Any combination or experience equivalent to a Bachelors degree in construction management, business administration or related field and five years increasingly responsible experience in construction, maintenance, landscape, custodial, transportation, operations and repair of buildings including four years in a supervisory capacity.
● DOJ fingerprint clearance and TB clearance.
● Legal authorization to work in the U.
S.
● Valid California driver’s license.
● Within 60 days of hire, provision of TB (tuberculin) clearance, as mandated by the California Education Code.
● Experience working in a school district or educational setting is desired.
*RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES: * Under the direction of the Chief Business Officer or designee, plan, organize, control and direct operations and activities involved in the inspection, cleaning, new construction, maintenance and repair of District buildings; facilities, grounds and equipment.
Manage transportation services to the District.
Assist in facility and modernization planning and implementation.
Lead and manage communications, personnel and resources to meet District maintenance, operations, facilities and transportation planning needs.
Assure smooth and efficient departmental activities.
Supervise, evaluate and develop the performance of assigned personnel.
* Plan, organize, control and direct operations and activities involved in the inspection, cleaning, construction, maintenance and repair of District buildings, facilities, grounds and equipment; establish and maintain related priorities and timelines; assure related activities comply with established laws, codes, rules, regulations, ordinances, policies and procedures.
* Coordinate and direct communications, personnel and resources to meet District maintenance, operations, transportation and construction needs and assure smooth and efficient departmental activities * Establish and maintain relationships with staff and administrators regarding custodial, maintenance, construction and repair projects, activities, progress and related needs and issues; prioritize and coordinate response to requests and work orders.
* Supervise, evaluate and develop the performance of assigned personnel; interview and select employees and recommend transfers, reassignment, performance management; coordinate subordinate work assignments and review work to assure compliance with established standards, requirements and procedures; assure employee understanding of established requirements.
* Plan, develop and implement construction, installation, maintenance, repair and enhancement projects; monitor, assess and modify activities in response to project progress; inspect completed work for accuracy and compliance with established standards, requirements and procedures; assure compliance with the Division of State Architect specifications and requirements.
* Direct the activities of labor estimates, costs of materials and equipment needed for construction, maintenance and repair activities; compile and prepare cost estimates; monitor and assure adequate levels of equipment and supplies; research and coordinate the purchase of equipment and supplies as appropriate.
* Participate in the planning, development, scheduling, design and implementation of new construction and renovation projects; provide input concerning the development and design of architectural and engineering construction specifications; coordinate projects with outside contractors; review contractor work to assure compliance with established standards, contracts and specifications.
Address and respond to community needs and special needs of site administration.
* Assure proper coordination of activities in accordance with bond requirements for the proper use and reporting of bond funds; prepare related reports.
* Collaborate on district facilities and construction projects; maintain contact with technical consultants and specialists on issues related to design and construction.
* Direct activities of custodial services that ensure facilities are cleaned and maintained in a safe and orderly condition; schedule and direct preventative maintenance functions; coordinate response to emergency custodial and maintenance needs; direct utility and energy management and conservation programs to enhance cost-efficiency and meet District needs.
* Plan, organize and direct grounds maintenance activities involved in the beautification of grounds and landscaped areas; coordinate the mowing, edging, trimming and watering of lawns, fields and other turf grounds; oversee planting, cultivation, pruning, fertilization and irrigation functions.
* Direct the inspection of District building, grounds and facilities to identify maintenance and repair needs; coordinate and participate in inspection programs and activities to assure proper identification and resolution of fire, safety, security and health hazards.
* Oversee transportation services for the district to ensure all safety and compliance standards are met, training and maintenance of district vehicles is maintained; service and child safety standards are ensured, and that driver training and compliance meets all standards.
* Direct the development and preparation of the annual preliminary budget for maintenance, operations, and construction; review and evaluate budgetary and financial data; assure expenditures do not exceed established limitations.
* Provide technical information and assistance to the Chief Business Officer or designee regarding assigned activities, needs and issues; assist in the formulation and development of policies, procedures and programs.
* Direct and participate in the maintenance of various records related to maintenance, repairs, work orders, projects and assigned activities; prepare periodic budget reports.
* Communicate with personnel, administrators, outside organizations and the public to exchange information, coordinate activities and resolve issues or concerns.
* Operate standard office equipment including a computer and assigned software; drive a vehicle to conduct work.
* Coordinate, attend and conduct various meetings and in-services to maintain a high level of standards.
