ECC is seeking a Construction Intern for large $760MM new airfield construction project in Ridgecrest, CA - must be able to work on site at project location for at least 10 weeks during the summer.
This will be a full time (40 hours per week) position.
Transportation or allowance, lodging, and meals provided by ECC for non-local candidates selected.
As an Intern, this position is responsible for performing basic duties of limited scope working with highly skilled and friendly construction management professionals.
During your off-work time you will have the opportunity to visit Southern California’s beaches, Death Valley, Hollywood, and Disneyland.
In this position, you will:
Be a part of the on-site construction management team for a $760MM new airfield construction project where you will get hands-on experience with project management, change management, contracts, project controls and more.
Work with field and office engineers onsite, performing surveying, drawing and submittal reviews, and as-built construction reviews/checks in the field.
Be embedded with the Quality and Safety Teams to review quality and safety requirements, perform inspections and generate reports.
Under close supervision and following specific instructions, performs basic duties in support of the department
May be assigned to complete special projects
In addition to the accountabilities above, other responsibilities, tasks, and deliverables may be assigned to the incumbent of this position
Requirements
Ability to communicate in written and verbal formats
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office
Education: This position requires a high school diploma and must be currently enrolled as a second, third, or fourth year student in an accredited university working towards a bachelor’s degree in Construction Management or Engineering (civil, electrical or mechanical) from an accredited university.
Preferred Qualifications
Basic knowledge in related field
Prior ECC internship is desired, but not required
This position pay is $20-22 per hour and for non-local hires includes lodging, meals, and transportation.
