General Requirements
The Electrical/Sustainability Engineer I provides technical support for all Electrical Engineering aspects of the delivery of capital
and tenant improvement projects and engineering services for office/administrative, research and development (R&D)
laboratories, pilot laboratories (PL), and warehouses at our client’s facilities located in, Bay Area, CA.
Assists with Sustainability
initiatives and serves as Project Engineer on small Life Cycle Projects.
Essential Duties and Job Functions:
Works with Technical Engineering team to support small modifications to electrical systems and equipment and
support large construction projects.
This includes:
Participate in project reviews.
Perform job walks and provide field observation reports.
Participate in SATs (site acceptance testing) and Cx activities.
Works with end users from cross functional teams to support sustainability initiatives.
Design, develop, or evaluate energy-related projects or programs to reduce energy costs or improve energy efficiency
during the designing, building, or remodeling stages of construction.
Participates in developing Engineering Practices.
Work with Automation group to provide Engineering Review of campus building systems to help drive data-based
decisions with Operations and Maintenance groups.
Knowledge, Experience and Skills:
Bachelor’s or master’s degree in engineering (Electrical, Mechanical or Chemical).
8+ years of experience
Prior experience in Pharma or Device, Experience with Pharma R&D facilities highly preferred
Able and willing to be in the field at times with a hands-on approach.
Ability to read and understand electrical drawings.
Should have familiarity with electrical switchgear, such as switchboard, panelboard, transformer, power metering,
lighting system and basic electrical control system.
Prefer experienced with Short Circuit Coordination Study (SCCS) and Arc Flash study.
Identify energy saving opportunities and make recommendations to enhance energy efficient operations.
Conduct energy audits to evaluate energy use, cost, or conservation measures.
Direct the work of contractors and project team in the implementation of energy management projects.
Partner with our Sustainability committee to deliver energy excellence.
Develops and improves energy concepts, techniques, and standards.
Takes ownership of energy related engineering projects.
Excellent problem-solving skills, including data analysis, root cause investigations and issue resolutions.
Demonstrated ability to effectively work in cross functional teams, meet deadlines, and prioritize multiple projects.
Able to work in a self-driven, performance/results oriented, fast paced matrix environment.
Detail oriented with excellent verbal communication, influence, and negotiation skills.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $80.
00 - $90.
00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 – 45 per week
