JOB SUMMARY Our Building Plan Review Department is currently hiring a Plans Examiner.
This is a full-time, hybrid position based out of our Foster City, CA office.
The Plans Examiner position involves working five days a week (Monday - Friday) between the hours of 8:00a.
m.
- 5:00p.
m.
In this role you will review commercial, residential, and industrial project plans and specifications for compliance with building codes and ordinances.
RESPONSIBILITIES Understanding of California Building Standards Codes and Referenced Standards.
Ability to read and interpret maps, construction diagrams, plans, blueprints, and specifications and evaluate them for compliance with governing codes and standards.
Exhibit sound judgement in providing expert code interpretation.
Ability to suggest alternate forms of compliance with codes and ordinances.
Prepare and present effective oral and written reports.
Perform other related duties as required.
QUALIFICATIONS 0 to 3 years of industry experience.
High school diploma or GED.
International Code Council (ICC) Certifications, including Certified Plans Examiner (and/or obtain within the first year of employment which is required.
) Strong computer skills; Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel.
Excellent communication skills; able to communicate effectively with everyone regardless of level of technical expertise.
Ability to remain calm during stressful situations.
WORKING CONDITIONS Must be able to drive to client job sites.
Must be physically able to walk in and through job sites for extended periods.
Work independently or in a team environment.
On an as needed basis, be able to work from home, or at a client office location is required.
Able to lift and carry equipment weighing up to 35lbs.
Regularly requires working in a sitting position with a computer for extended periods.
Work with detailed, finely printed documents.

The compensation for this position is $30.

Exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience, and location.
We only consider candidates living locally or within the State of CA.
We do not pay any relocation expenses.
