Pacific Biosciences is looking for an experienced Staff CMOS Sensor Test Engineer to join our Cell NPI (New Product Introduction) group working on PacBio’s biologically integrated semiconductor chip technology.
Initially, the focus will be on CMOS Sensor characterization.
The candidate will engage with external partners to improve and ensure the quality of our sensor metrology, and support yield enhancement efforts throughout the product lifecycle.
Responsibilities:
Work with external partners to develop, improve, and maintain CMOS Image Sensor probe and e-test methods to support development and manufacturing needs
Work with internal partners to define key image sensor parameters for system-level development
Own device performance and data analysis on baseline production data and yield enhancement experiments
Provide hands-on support for in-house testing on sensor evaluation boards/systems EE
Interface with the internal and external failure analysis resources to analyze and identify the origin of inline defects
Drive the physical root cause understanding and processing fixes for yield-limiting defects
Manage documentation and activities required to transfer metrology to manufacturing
Position Requirements:
Typically requires a minimum of 7-10 years of related experience with a Bachelor’s degree; or 5-8 years with a Master’s degree; or 3-7 years with a PhD.
Proven ability to establish and maintain close and effective working relationships with internal stakeholders and third-party vendors
Experience with CMOS image sensors, validation, image sensor performance metrics and data analysis
Experience working in an electro-optical laboratory environment (scope, logic analyzer, muti-meter equipment and tools)
Experience with image sensor evaluation boards (bring-up or debugging)
Significant proficiency with JMP, MATLAB, SQL, Perl, or Python
Record of utilizing material characterization techniques for failure analysis and yield enhancement (XTEM, EDX, APT, SIMS, XPS, AES, or other techniques)
Experience with design and fabrication of CMOS probe cards or related technology is a plus
Non-Field Based Employees are required to be onsite Monday-Thursday (Friday work from home).
Depending on the role, some employees may be required to be 100% onsite.
