What to Expect
As a Tesla Manufacturing Engineer, you have the important role of designing “The Machine that builds the Machine”.
You will work with the global cross-functional teams to develop high quality and efficient manufacturing equipment and processes that will produce the power electronics that drive our cars and energy products.
As part of the Global Powertrain Manufacturing Analytics and Systems team, you will drive analytics of critical and complex questions around process integration and overall factory optimization.
While the role is based in Palo Alto, CA, you will support all of Tesla’s Drive Inverter manufacturing lines across North America and Europe.
You will develop analytics workflows and processes and impact the design of data architecture and software solutions that will be deployed globally.
In this role, you will also develop data-driven models and analyses that will help our leadership ramp up and optimize our production lines as fast as possible and maximize yield, throughput and OEE.
Your hands-on analytics work will enable various engineering, operations, and executive customers at Tesla to leverage the vast amounts of data generated from the Drive Inverter manufacturing process all the way to the global Tesla vehicle fleet, to design and produce safer, lower-cost, and higher-performing drive units.
The work environment is intellectually demanding, fast-paced and incredibly exciting.
You should be ready to push your limits, as you join a highly motivated and capable global team to achieve incredible goals.
What You’ll Do
Analyze trends in manufacturing key performance indicators globally
Analyze complex datasets to determine correlations between manufacturing equipment, processes, product design and field reliability
Use analmoly detection to analyze manufacturing datasets, changing the script from “tell me what I would like to know” to “tell me what I don’t know”
Build data aggregation pipelines using Python, Apache AirFlow, SQL, ClickHouse and others
Build intuitive visualizations that quickly answer questions using software and tools such as JMP, Minitab, Grafana, Plotly, Tableau, React JS and others
Provide strategic insights, hypotheses, and conclusions based upon this analysis
Develop standards in manufacturing reporting tools and dashboards to enhance visibility into the health of global manufacturing lines
Drive positive change by cutting through ambiguity and delivering strong results
