What to Expect
Tesla Bot Actuator Team designs and builds electromechanical actuators for the humanoid robot program (Tesla Bot).
The Proto Production Supervisor will have the critical task of managing the priorities, people, and execution of the actuator prototype production line.
The Proto Production Supervisor will lead the team that assembles the most torque and power dense humanoid actuators in the world.
The Proto Production Supervisor will work closely with manufacturing and design engineering and will be responsible for providing direct feedback to improve assembly process and design.
The successful candidate for this position must be very hands-on and have proven skills leading a team and executing in high-intensity situations.
Additionally, they must have experience with process and equipment troubleshooting, easily adapting to constantly changing low-volume production environments.
What You’ll Do
Work with the Actuator Program Manager to develop and track build plans
Execute on priorities and production plans provided by the Actuator Program Manager
Ensure quality standards are met throughout the entire production process and provide feedback to improve the process and design
Lead, coach, mentor and support up to 15 technicians on a shift
Support issue resolution including root cause investigation and corrective action tracking
Monitor and ensure safety standards are met by all team members on the prototype production line
Create and maintain dashboards to display key metrics including yield, throughput, cycle times, takt time, etc.
Provide detailed written & verbal status updates to key stakeholders
Documenting build issues and deviations.
Create a knowledge database to transfer learnings between build phases and improve hardware design and manufacturing processes
What You’ll Bring
Demonstrated knowledge and experience working in a manufacturing environment
3+ year experience in the field of manufacturing assembly of mechanical and/or electromechanical systems; bachelor’s degree preferred
2+ years leading or supervising teams in a relevant industry or environment
Experience supporting process development
Knowledge of 5S, lean manufacturing or 6-Sigma principles; knowledge of program/project management
Highly motivated, willing to learn on the job
Ability to read drawings, interpret metric/imperial tolerances
MS Office – including Excel, Word, Teams, and Outlook highly preferred
Experience using Jira and Confluence highly preferred
Must have command of the English language, both written and verbal
