The Supplier Industrialization Engineer, Power Semiconductor role is created to help Tesla innovate together with various semiconductor powerhouses to bring higher performance, more reliable, more scalable high-power semiconductor solutions to the world.
What You’ll Do
Spearhead defectivity and failure analysis in SiC and Si manufacturing processes at suppliers & make a comprehensive plan to reduce defects.
Support, Identify issues & spearhead improvements in the wafer fabrication process at partnered suppliers
Monitor recipes, device appropriate DOEs to implement new processes/recipes
Work cross-functionally with the design and reliability engineering team, understand the system-level requirements, and analyze the component-level performance to be able to meet those
Monitor the supplier’s yield very minutely and take appropriate actions to predict and resolve excursions
Oversee equipment performance & monitor implemented process controls at several suppliers
Assess Supplier’s PFMEA and manufacturing process controls and drive continuous improvement.

What You’ll Bring
Master’s or PhD in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering, Material Science and Physics
1-5 years of semiconductor industry experience in wafer process integration engineering/manufacturing, device engineering, design engineering, or quality and reliability engineering
Understands Statistical Process Control, demonstrates experience of enhancing SPC programs and has solid knowledge of statistical analysis
Has worked on Front End Wafer fabrication & understands power semiconductor manufacturing processes
Possesses in-depth knowledge of device physics and electrical engineering
Experience in failure analysis and material analysis techniques – SEM/EDX, TEM, XRF, XRD, CSAM, etc.
Experience with NPI activities for high-volume manufacturing
Understands applications of Cpk, GR&Rs and process qualification methodologies
Supplier development and management experience
Domestic and international travel (expected 25% of the time) is required to engage with suppliers, contract manufacturers and Tesla manufacturing sites, sometimes on a short notice.
Preferred, not required: Certification on QMS, Mandarin fluency
