General Summary
We are seeking a Lab Operation Manager.
The ideal candidate will oversee all aspects of facility operations, maintenance, safety, and utility management, and collaborate with the operation team in China to ensure the alignment of operation strategy and procedures.
Your expertise and leadership will be essential in ensuring that our lab is well-equipped, compliant with regulations, operate efficiently, and meet the procurement requirements.
Responsibilities:
The Laboratory Operations Manager will be responsible for the day-to-day management of the lab by independently executing routine lab maintenance, project management, work order processing, consumable ordering and stocking, equipment maintenance, and daily deliveries
The successful candidate will be knowledgeable of laboratory procedures and safety regulations to ensure efficient operations
Function as point of contact between administrative, scientific, and building management staff, enforce safety policies and best practices across functional teams, and provide sufficient PPE within all laboratories
Oversee day-to-day lab operations and support R&D departments
Manage, stock, and order all common inventory of lab consumables, reagents, buffers, and
Gases, responsible for chemical reagent inventory and tracking
Help the quote requests, price comparisons, supplier and alternative supplier identification, troubleshooting, and annual consumable spend analysis
Receive, organize, and deliver all incoming shipments and resolving any discrepancies
Assist equipment installation, service, repair, and maintenance
Develop and maintain laboratory SOPs related to lab equipment and operations procedures
Facilitate waste disposal with external vendors, conduct safety walkthroughs, and coordinate required training
Play an active role on the safety committee and responsible for maintaining all EHS & lab operations documentation
Maintain asset management system and documentation
Coordinate and set up new laboratory spaces for new hires as well as new hire orientation
Assist the lab head in preparing and managing lab operations budgets
Other lab-related duties may be assigned
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree, 3+ years of experience in lab management
Able to thrive in a fast-paced and dynamic environment and be a key player in the company's growth
Excellent verbal and written communication skills in both English and Mandarin
Cross time-zone collaboration
Might need to lift and move items weighing up to 50 lbs occasionally
Strong organizational and customer service-oriented skills, excellent interpersonal skills with experience dealing with a diverse workforce
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Basic biology experimental skill is a big plus
