HI, I’m looking for a creative/crafty handyman/woman who can do a small custom air duct project for me.
I know there are tons of air duct parts for heater/A/C and this project just involves finding the right parts and maybe making something custom.
I’ll pay for your time of course.
If interested, please respond with information about who you are and why you could do this project.
And your rate and maybe what you think it will cost if you have a guess.
If you just reply with a phone number or ask if I’m still looking, I won’t respond sorry I just don't have the energy.
If the ad is still up, I’m still looking for someone.
Thank you! I own this “BedJet 2” heat/A/C bed heater https://www.
bedjet.
com I have a severe chronic illness and it allows me to heat my bed and the room at different temperatures which really helps with many of my symptoms.
But the device sits on the carpet at the foot of my bed and the air intake is on the side, so it pulls in air from right off the carpet, which is old wall to wall carpet.
This air is then blown under my covers at the foot of the bed up towards my head under the covers (it blows the air at my feet towards my head, so the air goes from my feet up towards my head under the covers) so I wind up breathing air from right on top the carpet, which is the dustiest dirtiest place in the room and I believe it is affecting my health.
So I am hoping to find someone who can make a custom air intake that would attach to the side of the heating device where the intake is, and have a tube going straight up into the room about 3 feet so that the air is pulled from the middle of the room instead of right off the carpet.
The intake could be fitted tightly with rubber seals, or caulk or glued on permanently.
I’m hoping the tube that goes straight up could be a flexible type of tube so that it won’t get hit and break off the BedJet, but could flex around things.
I’m picturing a white tube with wire circles going around it, that’s flexible but holds its shape.
I don’t know where iv’e seen that before though.
And I’m hoping a top could be put on it so things don’t fall into it.
A top like the ones used on wood heaters to keep rain out of the pipe, a circular triangle hat.
As long as it doesn’t restrict air flow and create extra noise.
And hopefully it could be all white because I’ll be looking at it all the time and aluminum/metal color would reflect light and be hard to tolerate.
Is this something you could make for me? I might have you make 2 or 3 of them in case it breaks.
I have a second Bed Jet you could take home to make the air intake with, and then just fit it onto the on that is currently installed on my bed.
I have made some drawings here the best I could with the pictures I could find online of the BedJet.
Thank you so much! I’m happy to send links about me if you respond, I do a lot of advocacy for the chronic illness I have and there is a lot of information about me online including social media, etc.
