What to Expect
Tesla Infotainment Team is seeking a detail-oriented and enthusiastic Electronic Design Engineer with a strong background in computer system architecture, schematics design, layout, board bring up and validation, vehicle integration, failure analysis and manufacturing support for Infotainment Systems.
This Engineer will be responsible for designing and developing computer systems and peripheral devices for Tesla vehicles.
The ideal candidate will be self-motived, possessing a deep understanding of electrical engineering principles and a passion for developing cutting-edge Infotainment systems.
What You’ll Do
Develop and define system architecture for infotainment systems, considering functional requirements, performance, cost, and reliability
Lead technical discussion with vendors and cross-functional teams
Create detailed and accurate schematics for electronic components, ensuring proper functionality and integration with peripheral devices
Design and optimize PCB layouts, considering electrical performance, thermal management, and manufacturing constraints
Conduct board bring-up activities, troubleshooting and resolving any hardware-related issues during initial stages of development
Perform thorough validation of electronic designs through simulations and testing to ensure compliance with functional specifications
Conduct thorough failure analysis in the event of issues, providing detailed reports and recommendations for corrective actions
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to seamlessly integrate infotainment systems into the vehicles architecture, considering power, harness, inter-communication requirements
What You’ll Bring
Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent
Experience with the entire product development lifecycle, from concept to mass production ensuring designs meet cost, quality, and manufacturing requirements
Demonstrated ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams and collaborate with manufacturing partners
Strong project management skills, including the ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and adapt to changing requirements
Previous experience with supplier collaboration, component selection, and supply change management for high-volume manufacturing
Excellent communication and documentation skills, including the preparation of design specifications, test/validation plans and cross-functional team review materials.
Design experience in x86/ARM based CPU and GPU
Experience and knowledge with high-speed serial and memory interfaces including PCIe, USB, DDR4/5, Display Port, HDMI, and signal integrity design and measurement fundamentals for those interfaces
Experience and knowledge with power conversion, delivery, and power integrity
Proven track record of successfully designing and bringing consumer electronics or automotive systems to mass production
