Maxar is currently seeking a candidate who can apply their knowledge and experience to the development of Attitude and Controls Systems (ACS) for cutting edge low Earth orbit solutions, complex geosynchronous communications satellites, and beyond Earth science missions to join our Space Systems team in Palo Alto, CA.
This candidate will be involved in a new development project.
The ideal candidate has experience in applying the systems engineering discipline to complex systems and is familiar with ACS methods, hardware components, and their practical applications.
Responsibilities:
Design, analysis, and verification of satellite attitude control systems (ACS)
Coordinate implementation of ACS related FDIR (Failure Detection, Isolation, and Recovery) systems
Develop and flow down system and test requirements to flight software, unit design, production, and operations engineers
Support cross-functional teams to implement and test control topologies and ACS flight software.
Support Assembly, Integration and Test (AIT) team tasks
Support cross-functional teams to develop and qualify new ACS sensors and actuators
Foreign and domestic travel ~4 times a year may be required
Minimum Requirements:
Must be a U.
S.
citizen or permanent resident
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Physics, or a related discipline
A minimum of 5 years of relevant professional experience.
(A Master's degree may count as 2 years of experience.
)
Experience in dynamics, feedback control systems, spacecraft attitude control methods, or orbital mechanics
Experience executing the systems engineering discipline, with focus on requirements generation, evaluation, decomposition, synthesis, and flow down
Experience leading cross functional teams
Preferred qualifications:
Experience in guidance, navigation & control systems for spacecraft attitude control
Experience in GPS systems and hardware
Experience in Mission Operations
Expertise in executing the systems engineering discipline, with focus on requirements generation, evaluation, decomposition, synthesis, and flow down

Our salary ranges are market-driven and set to allow for flexibility.
Individual pay will be competitive based on a candidate’s unique set of knowledge, skills, and geographic diversity, with earnings potential commensurate with experience.
The range for this position is:
$97,000.
00 - $161,000.
00 annually.
