What to Expect
Tesla is looking for an experienced and motivated sheet metal foreman to join out mechanical self-perform construction team.
This role will be supporting exciting projects across the Bay Area.
What You’ll Do
Lead and supervise a team of sheet metal workers in constructing complex ductwork systems, including specialty systems.
Ensure adherence to design drawings, SMACNA standards, industry norms, and applicable codes
Layout and detail ductwork fabrication drawings and comprehensive material lists, while collaborating with project management to secure all required resources
Manage communication with ductwork fabrication suppliers, including providing hand-sketched fabrication sheets of complex, location specific fittings
Maintain frequent communication with project management to provide updates on cost and schedule
Collaborate to meet project cost and schedule constraints, demonstrating shared accountability for project success
Review mechanical construction drawings to devise an execution plan, identify necessary resources/equipment, and highlight constructability concerns
Serve as the primary field execution point of contact, fostering productive relationships with field leadership of other trades and general superintendents
What You’ll Bring
Minimum of 3 years experience leading commercial HVAC sheet metal construction crews of 2 or more sheet metal workers
Completion of a skilled trades certificate program and/or relevant military experience preferred
Proficiency and work experience in commercial construction ductwork installation
Ability to translate construction drawings into real-world duct systems independently, including hand-detailing custom fabricated rectangular ductwork and fittings to avoid field obstacles
Working knowledge of dry-side HVAC systems operation
Experience supporting the rigging of large equipment such as rooftop air handlers
Detail-oriented, positive attitude, resourceful, and capable of managing shifting priorities

70/hour + cash and stock awards + benefits
Pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements dependent on the position offered.
