We are seeking a long-term ELECTRICAL ESTIMATOR with excellent experience in the commercial industry.
Our scope of work ranges from commercial and industrial projects as large as a mall expansion to the smallest tenant improvement.

Our Projects are throughout the Bay Area (Currently San Jose to San Francisco, Oakland, Fremont & surrounding areas) so travel is a must.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
-Prepare full cost estimates for electrical projects, bid projects, prepare portions of contract proposal estimates, communicate with clients, vendors, engineers, architects, contractors, and subcontractors.
-Determine the scope of work, review design options, and provide change order assistance on current/ongoing projects.
-Prepare detailed proposal letters, subcontractor and vendor RFP’s, and develop and maintain estimating database.
This includes lighting, lighting control, dimming devices, fire alarm, A/V, modular wiring, grounding, motor and equipment connections, generators, power distribution equipment, feeders, UPS, etc.
-Review, analyze, and interpret bid documents to determine the scope of work and use independent judgment to formulate the estimating approach and bid strategy in a manner that enables the attainment of awarded projects within contract quotes.
-Evaluate bids of subcontractors and vendors for completeness of scope of work, schedule, compliance with specifications, or other bid requirements.
-Understand the entire electrical construction process from design through project close-out for large commercial and industrial projects.
-Responsible for supporting the project management team.
Achieve its goals by delivering high quality estimates on time.
-Develop working relationships with local material suppliers and equipment vendors to solicit accurate and current pricing of lighting, distribution equipment, low voltage systems, and miscellaneous material pricing.
DESIRED KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES
-Minimum 5-10 years of local commercial electrical estimating experience.
-Proficiency with computer applications, including Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe.
-Ability to read and interpret plans, scope of work, bid and contract documents, specifications, project schedule, one-line diagrams, schematics, layout drawings, wiring diagrams and modify them for optimization.
-Must have experience in preparing RFQ’s for switchgear, fixtures, fire alarm, tele/data, and security.
-Ability to prepare detailed electrical estimates based on limited, conceptual design information and existing site conditions.
-Have a solid understanding of pricing, bidding, experience evaluating and estimating design build contract work.
-Must possess concrete knowledge of structural, architectural, and mechanical documents and their impact on electrical scope.
-Ability to handle multiple projects at a time working within a team environment or independently is crucial.
-Must possess a strong work ethic, organizational and communication skills.
-Must have worked for an electrical trade partner or for another general contractor as an electrical estimator.
