As an R&D Process Engineer, Technology Transfer, you will be responsible for the validation of Monolith’s Carbon Black Manufacturing Process design basis for use in scale up and development of new grassroots projects.
You will be part of the Core Technology Team within Monolith and will support the final transition of new technology into construction of new plants and commercial production.

You have a strong understanding of heat transfer, fluid mechanics, thermodynamics, P&IDs, and instrumentation and process design
You have the range of skills necessary to push an idea from concept to project definition to final design
You have a clear grasp of chemical reaction kinetics and equilibrium and impact to reactor design and recipe
You have the ability to multi-task, adapt and change in a fast-paced, dynamic and evolving environment with grit, passion and perseverance
You are a creative problem solver who challenges previous assumptions and methods to continuously improve and solve challenges to relentlessly pursue a better solution
You have a Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering from an accredited university
You have had at least four years of experience in commercial plant design or process technical support with industrial manufacturing facility or EPC firm
What you'll do in the role:
You will help guide validation efforts and analyze results from a first-of its-kind manufacturing facility (Olive Creek 1) to help drive design decisions for the 11x increase required at Olive Creek 2 and other potential future projects as you work on all stages of the process from research and development to design and manufacture, through to installation and final commissioning

Your environment:
Most of your work will be performed within an office environment either at the San Carlos, CA office or at the OC1 Plant with travel between the sites required 25% of the time

Compensation and Location
San Carlos: $94,400-$122,750 base salary plus 10% bonus
Nebraska: $75,500-$98,200 base salary plus 10% bonus
