We are seeking an enthusiastic Scientist, Production & Services that has a passion for contributing to tools and services that benefit the life science community.
As this Scientist you will provide high-quality life science products and services for Scale customers according to the operations plans, including single-cell omics workflows, QC assays, data analysis, and preparation of reagents and kits to support manufacturing.
We are looking for a flexible and detail-oriented individual that can quickly shift priorities according to the needs of the team.
The Scientist, Production & Services will operate within the production team to run our single cell RNA and methylation protocols to produce various intermediates, subassemblies and finished good kits according to an operating plan for on-time and on-budget delivery.
In addition to standard biological wet lab techniques, the Scientist's work will utilize molecular biology/biochemistry techniques such as PCR, DNA/RNA isolation and quantification, fluorescent-based plate assays such as FRET, DNA sequencing, etc.
They will additionally support product and QC development as needed.
The ideal candidate will bring enthusiasm and positivity, work independently and as a part of a team, be organized, maintain thorough documentation, and perform molecular biology workflows with exacting standards.
What You'll Do:
Run ScaleBio product workflows to provide services for our customers with high quality and timely results.
Perform assays with exceptional scientific rigor.
Do whatever it takes to manufacture reliable, world-class Make-to-Stock Kit Products.
Develop manufacturing and QC protocols that maximize efficiency and reproducibility.
Produce high quality bulks, intermediates, subassemblies and finished good kits.
Maintain thorough, accurate and detailed documentation of all work produced in batch records, databases, etc.
Optimize and iterate on processes to increase output and ensure consistency.
Document, troubleshoot and/or address process deviations.
Balance priorities to assure continuity of supply and efficient production.
Create and implement SOPs and manufacturing batch records to make products that meet product and customer requirements.
Communicate effectively with peers / management and report out daily/monthly KPIs.
Provide excellent customer service and product support as needed.
Work according to Good Manufacturing and ISO practices.
Follow regulatory, GLP and ISO 13485 requirements as needed.
Learn, adopt, and promote lean manufacturing concepts.
About you:
A minimum of a Bachelor’s of Science in biology, chemistry, or biochemistry or similar discipline.
Relevant work experience in manufacturing or product development is a bonus.
Strong molecular biology lab experience, experience with sequencing, using automation, liquid handling, pipetting, and PCR preferred.
Strong attention to detail.
The ability to work independently and as a team.
A can-do attitude and high energy.
Ability to excel in a fast-paced, ambiguous, and changing landscape.
Strong proactive ability to anticipate problems and mitigate risk.
Physical Activities:
Working in a controlled laboratory environment.
Must be able to stand for long periods of time while performing duties.
Must be able to work safely with chemicals and hazardous materials
Must be able to lift up to 20 lbs.
Below is the salary range for this full-time position.
The actual base pay will depend on several factors unique to each candidate, including one’s skills, qualifications, and experience.
Base Salary Range - $75,000 - $110,000 USD
