I would like to contract out the restoration of my 1966 Powermatic 1200 drill press.
You can work at your shop or mine.
You disassemble, clean, and inspect all parts.
You identify and I purchase replacement parts or special tools as required.
You remove rust from parts as required using your equipment or mine.
You remove all existing finishes from all existing parts.
You do an excellent job of body filling, sanding, masking, priming, and painting all surfaces using materials provided by me.
You lubricate and re-assemble the drill press, inspect its operations, make any adjustments, and ensure it operates within Powermatic's original specs.
You complete the project with a great, stock restoration outcome that we can be proud of.
We negotiate a time & materials or a lump sum contract price.
I pay you the way and timing of how you'd like to get paid.
We agree on some broad schedule outline of the work knowing that things adjust as the work proceeds.
We get started when you are available and work out a schedule that works for both of us ensuring that we make some progress every week.
Different kind of opportunity for someone who has the time, interest, experience, and love required to restore an old machine tool.
Send any questions you have via email.
