Responsibilities include but not limited to:
Assist with livestock care, including cattle, pigs, sheep, and goat herds, encompassing tasks such as pasture movement, feeding, watering, and sorting for tagging, castration, vaccination, etc.
Assist in administering medications, vaccinations, or insecticides.
Administer IM, SubQ, and IV shots.
Monitoring Sheep/Goat health and wellness
Assist with lambing and kidding season.
Clean and maintain the sheep/livestock areas.
Assist in maintaining and setting up farm/ranch structures, equipment (e.
g.
, buildings, fences including electric single line, electric portable, and barbed wire), and irrigation (properly water pastures using wheel-line and handset irrigation).
Operate ATVs, trucks and forklift
Apply herbicide and maintain the landscape.
Qualifications/Requirements:
At least 3-4 years of experience and knowledge working on a ranch.
Livestock and pasture experience, including lambing/kidding.
(Holistic Management knowledge preferred).
Knowledge of safe work practices around horses and other livestock
Experience in monitoring animal appearance/behavior and communicating any necessary information to superiors.
Must be 18 or older, have proof of authorization to work in the United States and clear a background check.
Bilingual: Spanish (Fluent) and English (Fluent)
Work effectively with minimal supervision, self-motivated and self-starter
Physical requirements
Ability to work outdoors, on uneven, slippery terrain in varying weather conditions with dust and allergens
Ability to twist, bend, kneel, climb, lift 100 lbs.
