Essential Duties and Responsibilities Configure and deploy high availability, high security networks including routers, firewalls, switch gear, and wireless LANs.
Deploy our conference room systems, maintain site equipment, troubleshoot issues, and repair or replace as needed.
Order and maintain IT equipment inventory in our warehouse.
Manage networking equipment inventory from purchase date until end of life.
Provide site training and support for Network Equipment, Phones, and other IT Infrastructure at various locations.
Participates in creation and maintenance of IT standards, policies and procedures.
Keep internal customers, peers and leadership informed of trends, significant problems and delays affecting operations, services or scheduled downtime.
Provide weekly updates on status of reported problems or ongoing projects.
Brainstorms with team members to resolve more complex problems and escalates difficult issues to Team Lead for more technical assistance.
Analyzes and corrects problems independently using documented procedures, available tools, and personal knowledge and skills.
Logs and tracks issues activities using in a ticketing system, maintaining records and related problem documentation.
Initiative: Spotting opportunities; anticipating and acting on threats to services; proactively self-directing, rather than waiting passively until the situation demands action.
Good oral and written communication: Shaping and expressing ideas and information in an effective manner and conveying those ideas to others.
Planning and Organizing: Setting priorities and defining actions, time, and resources needed to achieve predefined goals.
Committed to training and mentoring other IT staff on the fly.
Problem Solving: Having the ability to identify problems and issues of varying complexities and finding effective solutions with little guidance.
Knowledge, Education, and Experience 4-6 years IT support experience, on the phone, in person, and remote.
Associate degree, Computer Science or equivalent.
Or similar experience.
Skilled in Microsoft Office, O365, Active Directory, Printer configuration and management.
Windows, MacOS and iOS support experience.
2-4 years Network infrastructure support.
Experience with metric-based IT support ticketing systems.
2-5 years’ experience with metric driven support queues and incident management.
Construction Industry experience a plus.
Skills and Requirements Requires Cisco Meraki Networking Experience and or Certifications Valid CA driver license with a clean DMV record Physical Demands and Work Environment Typical work will be in a construction environment where duties will be performed indoors and outdoors where you may be regularly exposed to wet and/or humid conditions; moving mechanical parts; high, precarious places; fumes or airborne particles; outside weather conditions; extreme cold and extreme heat.
The employee is occasionally exposed to toxic or caustic chemicals; risk of electrical shock and risk of vibration.
The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to very loud.
Overtime may be required to meet project deadlines.
The regular operation a computer and other business machines is required.
Reaching and bending with arms and hands; using eyes for close vision, peripheral vision, and good depth perception; climbing, good balance, kneeling or crawling, standing, walking, talking, and hearing are all necessary for the position.
The employee is required to sit and lift and/or move up to 50 pounds at a time.
The position will require working in an office environment where they must use a computer, telephone and other office equipment as needed to perform duties.
The noise level in this work environment is typical of that of an office.
The incumbent may encounter frequent interruptions throughout the workday and should be able to handle interruptions as well as multitask.
