BARTER TRADE SELL 1966 Chevelle L79 Malibu Sport Coupe 327 4 speed 12 bolt rear axle
For sale is a 1966 Chevelle Malibu Sport coupe that is a factory L79 COPO built 66 Chevelle.
The car is a street and drag strip racer from the late 1960's and was raced at the Fremont drag strip and at Half Moon Bay drag strip.
The Chevelle has a balanced and blueprinted 327 V/8 engine, a factory 4 speed transmission and a factory 12 bolt rear axle.
the interior has factory floor mounted front bucket seats, no power steering, 4 wheel drum brakes, and no other accessories other then the original AM radio and a heater, and yes, it has the 3/8" dia.
original fuel line on the frame from the factory.
Rumor has it all L79 cars were only built in Norwood, Ohio, and my 1966 Chevelle was built in Norwood, Ohio too.
I have every factory installed L79 option on the car, and it is 100% L79, but no paper work to prove it.

UPDATE: The Chevelle has a Mcleod racing scatter shield, a driveshaft loop, and a dual chamber master cylinder, all upgrades to make it NHRA legal to drag race in the late 1960's in the bay area.
The 12 bolt rear axle is a 4:11 posi, and it has period correct old school ladder bars and rear air shocks.
All the right and best parts to make this 1966 Chevelle a competitive street and strip drag racer.

a 12 bolt rear axle assembly with 4:11 gears with posi traction
a Sun chromed metal housing tachometer
a set of 3 black and white under dash gauges
a Grant chrome and wood rimmed steering wheel
period correct rear axle ladder traction bars
a set of rear axle air shocks
and a set of 1960's Ansen Sprint mag wheels with the original 56+ year old drag racing PRO TRAC tires still on the rims - 15" x 8.
5" wide mag wheels in the rear, and 14" x 7.

All the original speed parts were put on this Chevelle back in the late 1960's and are all date coded and original.
