At Ignite the Mind, our core purpose is to cultivate a passion for learning.
Our collaborative community of passionate tutors provides students in grades K-12 with individualized academic assistance.
At this time, we are looking to hire in-person tutors that can offer educational help and mentorship to high school students in the Redwood City area.
*What you'll be doing:*
\*THESE STUDENTS JUST MIGRATED FROM MEXICO AND ONLY SPEAK SPANISH\*
Tutors are responsible for helping our grade 9-12 students improve their academic performance by providing *in-person* tutoring services at the assigned school site.
The days and times of tutoring are Mon-Fri 8:30-9:30am and 1:30-3:30pm.
Additional remote hours will be required and extra tutoring hours may be added.
We are seeking tutors who can balance tuning in to the emotional need of our students while providing them with the tools they need to achieve academic excellence.

\*\* It is a contractual position with a start date ASAP through June.

*Desired skills and qualifications:*
* Spanish-speaking (*required*)
* 2 years of tutoring experience preferred
* Strong aptitude in 1 or more high school level subjects such as Math, Chemistry, Physics, English, History
* Passion for youth development
* Ability to interact with students and fellow tutors in a respectful and patient manner
* Able to adapt teaching techniques to the individual needs of the students
* Dedicated to student success
* Willing to commute to assigned school site
* There are no specific language requirements for this role, but being bilingual in Spanish is a plus.
