SCHOOL AGED CHILD CARE (SACC) MISSION: For the past 25 years, SACC at Peninsula Covenant Church has been home to thousands of campers and staff from all over the world.
We are a licensed child care program serving children in transitional kindergarten (TK) through middle school in both after school care and summer programs.
Our mission is to provide an encouraging and safe environment for campers to be known and valued, growing as God’s unique masterpieces.
PRINCIPAL OBJECTIVE The SACC PROGRAM COORDINATOR provides administrative and additional support for the PCC School Age Child Care and Swim & Gym programs.
This Coordinator is primarily responsible for providing clear, encouraging and timely communications for the staff and families we serve.
PRINCIPLE WORKING RELATIONSHIPS Within PCC: Reports to the SACC Program Manager; provides support to program staff; partners with other ministry teams Outside of PCC: Communicates with public school administrators regarding attendance, calendaring, and pick-up schedules; responds to calls and emails, mostly from parents of current and potential campers SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES Administrative: Respond to calls and emails for the program Plan and communicate weekly snack menus Organizational tasks - create and maintain program schedules and rosters; maintain systems to track inventory and organize supplies Maintain current social media presence and website platform Assist with all creative needs of the program, including marketing and arts/crafts activity preparation Provide content and design for weekly newsletters to parents and staff Assist with creating and maintaining handbooks for parents and staff Assist with program planning (leading towards summer and school year) Serve as Proxy for the Program Manager as needed Staffing: Assist with job posting, phone screening, onboarding and training Manage weekly staff driving, counseling, and classroom schedules Maintains rosters Assist with the review process Supervise counselors and drivers Assist with payroll Finances: Assist with identifying and applying for grant opportunities and outside funding opportunities Order supplies and materials Assist with expense reports and program budgeting Driving and Counseling: Drives vans to pick children up from schools as needed Subs as a counselor for camper groups as needed REQUIRED SKILLS AND ABILITIES Aligns personally with PCC’s and SACC’s vision and mission One year of successful experience counseling children’s programs and/or activities Minimum 3 years administrative or equivalent experience Excellent communication skills that translate well to adults and children Effective collaboration and partnership skills with demonstrated ability to work independently and as a team player Ability to work effectively within a changing environment, flexible, adaptable and not easily deterred from achieving key objectives Display ongoing commitment to learning, self-development and continuous improvement Must adhere to and model PCC’s Safe Church policies EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION Education: A.
A.
in a compatible field (marketing, art, english, journalism, education, recreation, etc.
) CPR/1st Aid Certified (or willing to get certified within 3 months of hire date) Mandated Reporter Certified (or willing to get certified within 3 months of hire date) Experience: One year of successful experience counseling children’s programs and/or activities Minimum 3 years administrative, marketing or equivalent experience PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS High levels of alertness, concentration and initiative Frequently lift and/or move up to 15 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds Extensive walking on 14 acres campus required.
Ability to physically interact with children including both indoor and outdoor activities.
