Principal Objective
Under the direct supervision of the Peninsula Covenant Church (PCC) School Aged Child Care Program Manager, the After School Camp Counselors are responsible for the safety and supervision of their campers.
Counselors are a representation of PCC School Age Child Care to Redwood City families.
Job Summary An After-School Camp Counselor is a fun, positive role model who manages and engages in structured activities with campers.
Counselors are expected to encourage their campers to participate in both team and individual activities while maintaining safety and camp protocols.
Classrooms and outdoor activities must be cleaned, organized, and maintained by the counselors.
Counselors play a crucial role in helping make the After School Camp a memorable enrichment experience for campers.
After School Camp Counselors that are 21+ years old with a clear driving record will have the opportunity to help with the transportation process.
An After School Camp driver is a fun, positive role model who manages and engages in conversation while driving the campers to Peninsula Covenant Church.
Counselors who drive are expected to arrive at the schools on time, pick off the kids on their lists, and continue their route until all campers are picked up.
After School Camp drivers will transport the children in a 9-seat passenger van.
Drivers play a crucial role in helping make the After School Camp a memorable enrichment experience for campers.
The Driving Schedule is as follows: Monday/Tuesday/Wednesday/Friday: 1:30-3:30 pm Thursday: 12:30-2:30 pm Super Minimum Days (based on school district schedule): 11:00-1:30 pm Requirements Walk Deep (Character + Calling) Integrity: Honest, follows-through, accepts personal responsibility, accountable.

Knowledgeable: Understands children's day camp activities, children's bible topics, and the safety of working with children.
Customer service: Courteous, strong communication skills, attentive to others, patient, and comfortable giving progress reports to parents.
Professionalism: Punctuality, proper work attire, positive attitude, excellent attendance, and uses appropriate language with campers and staff at all times.
Experience: 1+ years of experience working with kids in a camp setting.
Experience working in faith-based curriculum preferred Education: High school degree or equivalent.
Get Off Campus (Community + Commitment) Teamwork: Able to work with others towards a common goal, create a positive working atmosphere, support others to better team performance, gives and receives constructive feedback.
Reputation: Prioritizes community building and helps strengthen School Age Child Care’s relationship with the local parent community.

Physical Requirements Able to stand and move around a large area for up to four hours at a time.
Able to lift and transport up to 30 pounds of equipment.

Learn and implement camp rules and policies.
Set up, lead, and break down activities throughout the day.
Provide homework assistance to campers Manages and cares for the assigned classroom.
Ensures that the classroom is cleaned and prepared for the next ministry to use.
Serve snacks in a positive, family-style manner Safely navigate campers through PCC campus and field trip locations.
Participate in weekly Bible Time programming.
Communicate and work with counselors, office staff, and parents to discuss camper behavior and progress.
Develop individual relationships with students.
Tend to campers' social and emotional needs throughout the school day.
Follow injury procedures at all times.
Be aware of camper safety at all times.
Create and coordinate unique group experiences (group songs, camp traditions, group parties, etc.
).
Complete assigned training items throughout the year.
Attend weekly mandatory staff meetings.
Strive to live out the School Age Child Care mission and vision.
