If you love to swim, enjoy working with children, and want to make a difference in someone's life by teaching a life-saving skill, then this is the opportunity for you! We are looking for Swim Instructors to join our fantastic team for the Summer.
No experience is necessary, we will train you!
*Please note, seasonal shifts are week-long sessions, so you must be able to commit to the same shift every day for the week that you sign up for.
Camp Lessons are held Monday-Friday, whereas Community Lessons are held Monday-Thursday and Saturdays.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Ability to teach proper swimming technique in a safe, positive and appropriate manner to various levels and age groups in accordance with the company's instructional guidelines (We will train you!)
Observes students during class to teach and correct mistakes, demonstrating skills as needed
Engage participants in a fun class dynamic
Responsible for set-up and clean-up of lesson area
Ability to track and maintain evaluation cards for students
Excellent communication skills with children and adults
Attend staff and training meetings as required
Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
Must complete training requirements prior to your first shift, and/or no later than June 15th.
Must be able to commit to at least 4 weeks of summer programming
Comfortable in an outdoor pool for 3+ hours
Must be punctual, responsible, and maintain a positive attitude
Compassionate, enthusiastic, and enjoys working as a team
Must be an effective communicator, with students and parents as appropriate
Experience working with children and creating a positive environment for their development is a plus
Competitive swim experience or experience in an aquatics program environment is a plus
CPR/First-Aid/Lifeguard Certification is a plus (not required)
