Are you ready to inspire champions? If yes, then this may be the right opportunity for you! Stanford Athletics is currently accepting applications for the position of Goalkeeper Specialist, Field Hockey.
The Goalkeeper Specialist Assistant Coach is responsible for assisting the Head Coach, including but not limited to coaching the varsity field hockey team, as well as assisting with the administration of recruiting, training, practice, team management, budget management, and team travel.
Goalkeeper Specialist Assistant Coach also has the opportunity to participate in summer camp operations consistent with institutional and NCAA regulations.
Your responsibilities include: Practice design of GK training sessions, assessment, and individual growth plans for each.
Assist the Head Coach with defensive principles and defensive unit play.
Daily coding and video being sent to GK’s and team members.
Game Day coding/filming.
Support and facilitate a healthy team culture that supports the development of grounded self-awareness and growth mindset, selfless teamwork, personal and team integrity, and competitive greatness.
Assist in coordinating and scheduling team training and practice sessions, utilizing video analysis to provide feedback to players, all while adhering to NCAA regulations and considering the academic commitments of Stanford student-athletes.
Assist with identifying, assessing, and recruiting top student-athletes to compete at Stanford, within the context of applicable NCAA regulations and University admission expectations.
Assist with the organization required with visiting teams, recruits, and other parties.
Engage in Department of Athletics programs and events, such as Coaches meetings, All-Staff meetings, and educational sessions focused on compliance and other pertinent topics.
Participate in and/or support alumni outreach, fundraising, and other relevant relationship management activities on behalf of the program and the department.
Perform other duties as assigned by the Head Coach or her designee.
To be successful in this role, you will have: Bachelor’s degree required.
Collegiate or professional coaching experience is required.
Division I collegiate coaching experience preferred.
1-3 years experience coaching goalkeepers.
Strong interpersonal skills in working with student-athletes, peers, and the general public.
Computer literacy with common office applications such as Word, Excel, G-Suite applications, Hudl, or Sports code.
Ability to understand and comply with all rules and regulations of Stanford University, Atlantic Coast Conference, and NCAA.
Ability to work cooperatively with a variety of staff and personnel in the Department of Athletics, the University, and the community.
DAPER’s Integrity: This position, along with all DAPER coaches and staff, is responsible for the integrity of Stanford’s intercollegiate athletics program and for the reputation of Stanford University.
This position is responsible for ensuring that his/her/their involvement with Athletics Department activities maintains the integrity of the University’s reputation and does not negatively impact the relationship between the University and its faculty, staff, students and alumni.
Additionally, this position must comply with University policies and procedures, NCAA and Pac-12 rules and regulations.
The expected pay range for this position is $66,560 to $70,000 per annum.
Stanford University provides pay ranges representing its good faith estimate of what the university reasonably expects to pay for a position.
The pay offered to a selected candidate will be determined based on factors such as (but not limited to) the scope and responsibilities of the position, the qualifications of the selected candidate, departmental budget availability, internal equity, geographic location and external market pay for comparable jobs.
